Missouri.....The Gateway To My Quest!!!!

Day 791, 12:18 Published in USA USA by Preston Sage

My name is Preston Sage, and I am once again running for the eUS Congress under the United States Workers Party ticket. Last month I ran in the great State of Texas and lost to one heck of an opponent in Panther. I worked hard to win that election, but in the end it just wasn’t to be. I had a lot of fun though, and learned a few things along the way. There was no doubt in my mind that I would run again this month. My party needed me elsewhere this election cycle, so now I have packed my bags and headed to the wonderful State of Missouri. The state’s incumbent Senator, Clevinger, decided not to run this month for reasons that I don’t know. I’m honored to be the person to step into the two time Senator’s place. I just hope that if I am elected the wonderful State of Missouri’s Senator, that I am able to pick up where Senator Clevinger left off and continue to fight for the citizens of this great country. My platform will be a lot like my first platform from last month, but with a few variations. While I still am firm in my core beliefs, things have come to light that have given me better understanding on certain subjects, and has allowed me to make better judgments in the process.

About Me….

While I am pretty sure that more people in eRepubik know who I am than they did last month, I am equally sure that there is still may be some out there saying as they read this, “who in the heck is this Preston Sage dude?” Well here are some things that you need to know about me:

-I’m the current Ambassador to eSingapore: I have been the Ambassador to eSingapore for approximately two months now. It’s a position that I take very seriously, and has been a very rewarding experience for me. To get to know a group of people that are totally different from our own has only helped me to realize that we have it a lot better that most people in the world. The citizens of eSingapore are very knowledgeable and aware of what’s going on around them. It’s an honor for me to be the eUS representative of that country. It would be an honor for me to represent the wonderful State of Missouri as well.

-I am the current PAC Regional Director of the Great Plains Region in the United States Workers Party: I guess that all of my hard work from the last Congressional Campaign, and staying active in the party forums paid off. I was offered this position not too long ago, and I gladly accepted. Given such a position within the party proves to me that my party thinks that I have what it takes to get the job done. I will not let them down, and I promise to not let the citizens of the wonderful State of Missouri down if I am elected into eCongress.

-I’m the editor of the newspaper Sage Advice: My newspaper was formerly known as the Eagle Americana, but I thought that a name change was needed. I think that the name change personalized my newspaper more. So when a reader saw that a new article was out from the Sage Advice, they could say that’s the paper that’s run by Preston Sage. Preston Sage…Sage Advice…cool play on words right? I haven’t been as active with my newspaper for the last couple of weeks because I am getting back into the swing of things after the holiday season. Business will pick soon though.

-I’m a proud member of the Eagles Militia: When I joined the Eagles, I was a very green and inexperienced Corporal. Now I am a General. As an Eagle, I participated in countless liberation campaigns across the globe. Not too mention the many other battles I have fought in just to stick to PEACE/PHOENIX. A lot of times when I fight, the money for weapons and gifts come out of my own pocket. I am not a rich man by any stretch of the imagination, but if I can’t give my last to my country, then no one else deserves it in my opinion. I love the Eagles Militia, and will always appreciate what they have done for me. They have been one of the biggest influences in helping me grow as a eCitizen and as a player in eRepublik. George Barker and MercutioTD most notably have had a positive influence on me, and I am very thankful to have met both of them.

-I just graduated from the Training Corps recently: I am currently waiting my next assignment. Even though I had been serving the country proudly with the Eagles Militia, I felt that it was my duty as a eMerican to go through basic training to learn the ins and outs of the eUS military structure. It’s something that I urge all eMericans to do. It will only make you stronger and more knowledgeable as a player , and make the country stronger as a whole. It’s win win for everyone.

So as you can see, I have immersed myself in virtually every facet of the eUSA way of life. From foreign policy, to domestic policy. From the eUS Military, to home grown Militias. From the Media platform, to just being an the average eUS citizen that wanted to know what was going on in the eWorld. Politics are the next logical step for me, and that’s why I am going to try my hardest during this campaign to make you feel confident enough in me to cast your vote in my favor on election day.

What I stand for….

Truth, Justice, in the eMerican Way!!!

Domestic Policy: While I know that there is a lot going on in the eWorld around us, what happens inside our borders is always my first priority. Getting younger players educated about the basic rules of eRepublik is vital to making us an even stronger nation than we are now. I am a huge supporter of the Fortress System. This strategy is the only way to go in my opinion because of all of the regions that our country has. Citizens spread out in every state only makes the country more vulnerable to hostile takeover by our enemies abroad. Moving as many people as we can into the states of Florida and California will keep us in a good position to remain functional if we were to get attacked in the future. Huge populations in those two states would make it near impossible for them to be captured. That being said, I think that putting Q2 Hospitals in a few key States could go a long way into bettering the retention rate of eUSA citizens. I think that something has to be done for us to get more people involved in the game. Maybe if some of the newer citizens stayed alive long enough, they would realize that living in a state with a Q5 Hospital/Defense System would be the way to go to ensure their survival. We just can’t sit back and think that people will just join up because we are the greatest country in the eWorld because as we can see, that isn’t happening. We have to make some bolder moves in my opinion. This could be one of them.

The mentoring program is something else I am a huge supporter of as well. Unfortunately for me, the mentor that was assigned to me when I first joined eRepublik got banned for some reason soon after he started mentoring me. I turned to the person that got me to join the game, Speedcat McNasty, and he became my mentor. He helped me learn virtually everything that I needed to learn in the early going. After I joined the USWP, I leaned on ligtreb when I needed my questions answered. I couldn’t have done it without either one of those guys. Making sure that the new players have proper mentoring could be another way to help keep them interested in the game, and make them more than just 2 clickers. Ensuring that the Welcoming Committee and the Mentoring Program continues to be a vital force in the eRepublik landscape is something that I will see continues to be done if I am elected to Congress. Just because I am ok with putting Q2 Hospitals in some states doesn’t mean that I think that it is a good idea to stay in nonfortress states. There are way too many disadvantages to continuing to stay in states that are ill equipped to support the citizens of this great country. I strive to make sure that the citizens in the nonfortress states know that organizations like the Welcoming Committee, the Wasteland Commission, and the Salvation Army, are at their disposal if they needed them.

Military Policy: I am a staunch supporter in the eUS Armed Forces, and ensuring that they remain a strong presence at home and abroad. I will support whatever funding is necessary to make sure that the military can perform at its best during whatever actions they are involved in. A strong Military ensures that our enemies think twice about making a move against us. Whatever I can do to make sure that our military remains the best fighting force in eRepublik I will do it. I also have made it no secret when it comes to my support of militias. Militias have the advantage of being able to pick and choose which battlefront would be the best place for them to carry out there duties. The disadvantage is that the majority of their funding comes from the private sector. Money made from the various companies run by the militias and donations. As well as raffles and other various contests. I will continue to show my support, as well as stay involved with the militias(seeing as I am a member of one), and make sure that they continue get the recognition that they deserve.

Foreign Policy: With me being the Ambassador to eSingapore, I know all to well about the importance of diplomacy between two countries. We must continue to strengthen the tides of friendship between our allies and us, while continuing to let the enemy know that we have had enough of their bullying ways. It’s going to take more than just the eUS to solve the problems that plague the world. With the help of our EDEN brothers, I know that in the end that we will rid the world of the menace that goes by the name PHOENIX.. With the taking of Jharkhand, Liaoning, and Karnataka from PHOENIX, three high resource regions, we have been able to knock a few dents into their armor. EDEN’s impressive showing over on the European front also makes me think that PHOENIX’s reign of terror will be over sooner rather than later. I will fully support the efforts of the Jewitt Administration and the Joint Chiefs of Staff as they coordinate with EDEN forces and continue to liberate the countries occupied by our enemies and return them to their rightful owners. PHOENIX’s reign of terror must end at all costs. If I am elected to congress, the eUS government will have me on their side in their efforts to do so.

Campaign Promises….

Transparency: As a citizen, I have seen it when a decision is made by congress that the eMerican public doesn’t agree with, and they want answers. Some times those answers never come, and that does nothing but cause dissension in the ranks, as well as leave a lot of people frustrated about how the government’s overseers are carrying out the business of governing. What I plan to do is make a weekly report in my newspapers explaining why I voted or not voted for a certain bill. Provided it doesn’t do anything to jeopardize the national security of our country of course. I know that as a Congressman I will have some hard choices to make. I’m not afraid to vote a certain way even if it something that I know may not go over well with the citizens of our great country. I am not afraid to ruffle a few feathers if it will make us progress as a country. I will do what I have to do to make sure that this country continues to be as great a country as it can be. No matter the risks.

Making sure the citizens of Missouri understand the perils of living there: If I am elected to congress, I promise to personally contact each and every citizen of the wonderful state of Missouri, and let them know what the disadvantages are of living in a nonfortress state. I will provide them with links to such programs as the Welcoming Committee, the Salvation Army, and the Wasteland Commission. This is something that I will have done by my first term in office. This is something that I will also keep the voters updated on in my weekly articles about what I am doing as your Congressman.

For all who read this, I hope that you can at least give it some thought when you go to the voting booths on January 25th. I hope that you can see that I am able, willing, and ready, to be the best Congressman that I can for the wonderful people of Missouri. I have said all that I can say for right now. The rest is up to you.
