Miss eRepublik 2013 - International Final

Day 1,932, 00:00 Published in Republic of Moldova Indonesia by ABeR1

Last year Volchica Polly started and completed the 1st Edition of Miss eRepublik. As you can see here: 2012 Miss eWorld Voting it was a huge event for the community – there were more than 4.000 comments / votes – and 19 countries reached at that time in the International Final.

This year we have 29 countries in the Final. Still a long way, if you ask me, to reach 70. I personally send over 600 messages to members of eRepublik countries trying to bring each and everyone to this final step. More than 50 players were involved in national selections trying to organize something for this community. Try to understand that this event is not simply a contest, it is my way and everyone’s involved in this to bring something „else” into a war/political/economic game. Understand that real hard work has been done during the last month so we all can enjoy this event.

Remember also that each of the ladies that participated in the national selections put aside their own privacy and showed real pictures, real faces that can be images of your sisters or of your girlfriends. Respect what they done for me, for you... and for everyone. If anyone insults in any way any of these ladies from behind a monitor, hiding his real identity IT is smaller than a pixel.
I say it again, this event is for community – so be part of this community.
Send them a few nice words, vote your favorite, make a small gift but never-ever insult them. You will only insult the community and, in the end, yourself.

70 countries received an official invitation to organize a national selection for the International Final. Some of these countries didn’t even seem fit to send back a small message saying „No.”
I am dissapointed, dissapointed that too many presidents and ministers from some of eRepublik countries ignored my invitation for their country. The invitation was not addressed to YOU as president or minister but for the country you represent. Oh yes, we have a very long way till we will have 70 countries in the final but this only because some people act for themselves and not for the community they should represent.

24 countries: Egypt, Pakistan, Finland, Cyprus, Estonia, Singapore, Austria, South Korea, Denmark, Germany, Bolivia, China, India, Slovenia, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Peru, Portugal, Thailand, South Africa, Switzerland and North Korea gave me a sad answer: “We do not have someone to represent our country in the final”.

4 countries tried even harder but still with no luck:

– Canada -> official announcement (thank you: Dozzer_x)
– Indonesia -> official announcement (thank you: LarasDea)
– New Zealand -> official announcement (thank you: Tabithi)
– Netherlands-> official announcement (thank you: Gwom, Gepard007)

Two special cases:

– Greece -> decided to stop the national selection because they only had one contestant. I still think it was wrong but all my messages to the team that organized the event remained unanswered. (thank you (?): Apostolos6, Dihenekis, Vasilis Karavias, Vada, DiMlTRiS)
– Montenegro -> decided to stop the national selection because some players insulted the contestants. „Thanks” to them Montenegro will not be represented in the International Final. I hope you are „proud” of you, little pixels. NBaki, thank you for your work. I hope next year things will be better in the community. I do hope that we will collaborate again under different circumstances.

A special “thumbs up!” for:
– Belgium – Tony Clifford, Mr. President and Michelle Freebird - to this event you are an example of how things should be treated. Belgium decided to be represented in the International Final by someone who doesn’t have in real life Belgium citizenship. Belgium is the single country that at this moment understand that INSIDE THIS GAME we must play a game. Belgium is the single country that took a decision based on the players of this game and not by other considerations. I do hope that in time all nations will act like you did today. THIS is the most wonderful thing I have seen in 2 years, at this event.

Now let’s take a look at the 29 countries who reached the final. I will place here links to each national selection. If you have time visit these articles even if they are written in a foreign language. From each country only one lady was selected but many more deserve a few words of appreciation. Put the weapons away for a few moments and meet some of the people behind the monitors. Each and everyone is a perfect flower. No matter where they were born, no matter what age they have or how tall they are. We play this game with them… so now it may be a perfect time to meet them.
