- Last but not least: ALL relevant people are on IRC!





The following guide will tell you how to setup MIRC to automatically connect and join the eNorway channel with your own unique user name as soon as you start the program.

It may look like a big chore but it should only take 5 minutes and will make using IRC a lot more joyfull.




How to set up MIRC in 5 steps:
Short version in 2!

1. Download mIRC here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html
Install and start the program. When you get the Evaluation Copy message just wait a couple of seconds and press Continue.
A new window will pop up. Fill in your nickname and press Ok.

2. After filling in your nickname, find and click the Scripts Editor button and a box will pop up.
Now click the Remote tab.
Copy the code below and paste it in the box.
After pasting it should end up looking like this:

Click Ok. Close mIRC and then start it again.

It should now try to connect. When it does it will ask you for a channel name. Just fill in #enorge.

If it has connected but does not ask you to fill in a channel name then just type:
/join #enorge.




The next 3 steps are optional. Do the next 3 steps if you want to register your nickname and join the #enorge channel automatically when you start mIRC.


3. This step will give you a user name. First of all change your nick to something that uses only numbers and letters by using the command /nick followed by your nickname. No special characters (';^_) are allowed.

When you have used the /nick command, type:
/msg q hello user@host.com user@host.com (replace user@host.com with your email adress. Yes twice.)
If your name is already taken it will tell you so. Try another nickname and type in the same command.

You will receive an e-mail with your password.
Once you have that password type:
/msg auth username password
Where username is the nickname you have chosen earlier and the password that you just received by e-mail.


4. Click on options (surrounded with the red circle)



Once the box has opened go to Connect -> Options -> Perform. A new box will appear like this:

Inside the box type the following: Replace "user" with your nickname and "password" with the password you got from your email.

5. Restart mIRC


Now you are all set!
Each time u load up mIRC, it will automatically let you login and join the needed channels.
