Nearly all of these questions have been asked before in previous census 's by governments. There is nothing in these questions that is of any substance to abuse you over.

This is the Ministry of Community, we provide stats, this census will show who our target market is, gives us general info about our population and at the same time includes a few fun questions.

Still as i said above, it is not politics or anything else. I just disagree with what the survey asks and i don't participate. If you take this as pissing on everyone's parade, then maybe you need to reconsider....

Oh AD, obviously I wasn't going to list all of the questions, I just stuck with the more 'intruding' pair... if you're going to ask "What is the purpose of the survey" and "How is it going to help eIreland", then its only yourself to blame if someone answers you.

And I didn't say your motivation was political - I don't care if you partake or not, you're boring anyway haa but you did ask two questions about the purpose for a community survey as if it was anything other than the usual propose of a community survey which aims at showing off the individuality of our community...and you asked if the survey is going to help Ireland, which is non-applicable and a political topic... eh?

I find myself agreeing with some of the concerns raised by AD31 and others. Any questions not absolutely essential to the central purpose of this survey should be optional, especially if they deal with real life / personal information or opinions that could be considered controversial in any way. Or at least you should provide an answer option such as "I don't know" or "undecided" or "other" for some of the questions. I really want to take this survey, but some things I just don't have an opinion on, or my opinion is not listed as one of the options, or I simply don't care to give my opinion or personal information that is beyond the scope of what I consider to be the government's business.

So, I hope this survey is a success, but until I see some more flexible response options I will not be taking it myself. Sry :/
