MINIMUM WAGE DEMANDED BY UNIONS
Ryan Bravo
Well I am mildly self sufficient and make my money by working as manager. I don't hire any employees and I find Q5 and Q6 items a luxury that I won't need for awhile. I'm not saying I'm gonna solve the economical problem by not working until wages increase, but until wages start rising I'm not working until I see the actual value in it....even if I do lose 100 USD a day. I'm not rich, I'm not poor, but I can get along with my own products. Finally, if more people actually demanded to get paid more the products created could be valued more in the market. More money flowing = better economy. The minimum wage ideology wasn't ill conceived. It's so crazy it just might work.

Many things that work in real life, per say, are not very useful in-game. For instance the population of the USA is tens of Millions of working citizens, whilst here in the eUSA we are about the size of 4 or 5 High School populations.
In this dynamic, small populations can work far better by means of redistribution of production as seen in most functioning Military Units. If we had 50,000 or more citizens.... things could be better translated for measures of fairness.
Minimum wage is a major crutch and useless tool in Country Administration as it stands now. The Market has a Bot (or script) that admin runs which injects money into the system disabling any great valuation of the dollar. The product diversity in this game is two fold, and both are primarily demanded by war. These and other problems are magnified the smaller the population gets.
Ok, well there are a lot of variables in the US market. I'll give you that, but the eRep model is much simpler thus the ideals of a minimum wage is more relevant. If you have stats that completely rule out a minimum wage I'm more than open to criticism.
Stats: Look at the current job offers. Are they anywhere close to a minimum wage? No.So raising the minimum wage is useless. In fact, it hurts our country because the lower the minimum wage is, the more efficient our communes can be.
"I'll give you that, but the eRep model is much simpler thus the ideals of a minimum wage is more relevant."
I also approached the game initially in an idealist fashion, as many many people do. When I began, I also asked why a Minimum wage wasn't sound. Frankly, I died a few times, came back, and I still haven't given up that notion of game play.
I reserve my suggestions now. Because they are in fact dangerous to the status quo. The majority of eRepublik players, let's just say, do not wish to express a body politic. Over time and through observations I have gotten the notion that the game is simplifying into what button pushers demand. The notions of reality have been pushed aside over the course of 4 years, so much so that we now live in a complete intangible fantasy world.
I feel that the bot was created, and that producible products limited, not soley for the war glory seekers. It happened because, in all of eRepublik history emulating wage regulation while important, cannot function without regulating the market.
Congress can change Minimum wage, always has. The Government however cannot regulate in any way but through taxation. [We cannot set the low and high price of bread, that has always been the problem.]
>intangible
There is no part of this game that the word "intangible" does not perfectly describe.
So first of all. If wages increase and so do prices of goods, isnt that simply inflation? We wont be getting more money at all since our money will be worth less.
Well if prices and wages increase it will take less time to save up to build buildings for raw and food materials along with the storage to keep them. I would imagine that would be good for the eUS all around.
@DeyoZero: They don't even sell eRepublik T-Shirts anymore *_*
lol, eUS has not been a bussiness our citizen freindly ecountry in a very long time. Communes cuase inflation to which we have come up with the answere of being the eWorld dumping ground for goods to keep market prices low. And all you will ever hear is that the game does not work like the real world, lol. This is true it does not work the same, but it can be done differantly. Min wage is a joke for many other reasons besides the communes which BTW I hate. eUS is a country for the rich. Or anyone who is going to be buying gold.
