Military Funding
Igor Thunderbrow
Daoine na hÉireann,
It has come to my attention that our brave and hardworking soldiers have not been receiving any pay to cover increased food costs necesitated by training daily.
In my short tenure as Minister of Defense, we sorted out a pay scheme for our soldiers and received huge funding from the government to carry this out.
I ask why this scheme has ceased to exist?
It is unfair to put the burden of these increased food prices on our IDF members who are already taking time out to train.
Yours
Igor Thunderbrow
Irish Union Party President

Are you trying to get votes again ? 🙂
Amroth is probably right, but Igor is too! As a Fianna Fail party member I would call on cross-party support for this scheme.
I wonder, why does something that is blatantly true instantly becomes brandmarked a vote farm, whenever it doesn't come from the government or it's coalition?
Well I am not trying to get votes, although voting for the Irish Union Party would be encouraged 😃
A party member of mine pointed it out to me that she never received any pay for being in the IDF after I was going to use my role in creating the scheme as part of my election campaign.
it is only fair that soldiers of this country are paid for there efforts
I realise now that theres alot of people who clearly dont have a job in real life, and who clearly dont understand the chain of command structure...
Firstly, the person receiving the pay should try and contact the Defense Department, did he do this?
If he did this, and was unable to get a reply, and he tried again with no reply, then fair enough, contact your party leader.
Then did the party leader attempt to contact the Defense Department? tried a second time?
Failing all that, maybe try and contact the President, the guy who is effectivly in charge of the country, and runs all the Departments, send mail await reply?
OK, so by now there should of been 6 mails sent, probably over a period of 48 hours, if still nothing received, then fair enough, pop out a media article.
Whats the point in having a chain, if your not going to use it!
Come on, lets try and make things a little easier in the future, and try and follow more of a chain!
People usually train everyday anyway, people shouldnt be paid for it.
Its not like you are absolutely forced to train everyday.
Its a waste of government funds is what it is.
@5n4keyes: Why talk to you?
You have said many times before that you will ignore me.
@Top Gun: Well allow me to disagree, but the paying of the IDF had already been agreed upon by the Government and funding had been allocated for this purpose. It should have been put in operation a good while ago.
@Top Gun: It also would encourage people to train who wouldn't normally and would also encourage those that do to buy higher quality food, increasing IDF wellness and strength and therefore the effectiveness of our Defense forces.
That is the reasoning behind it. Personally I feel that too much money was put aside for this plan in the first place but there should be some manner of compensation for IDF members.
If it was already agreed upon then soldiers should be receiving funding, this isnt the time or place to argue whether it is necessary or not. Also the quickest way to get results in this country is to make a newspaper article, no way around it.
First, whether or not I work in RL is not an issue! I think it inappropriate that you even bring that up 5n4keyes.
I first brought up the question with Igor, my party leader. Then I also contacted Torene Jones who responded very timely.
I saw no reason to contact you.
It is unfortunate that some will use this issue as another way to discredit Igor rather than look into or discuss the issue itself.
To be perfectly honest, I don't even know if I have or even need to sign up for the IDF, or if it is automatic if one trains. It was an issue I heard of and then started inquiring about.
If someone is attacked for bringing up something that others in government don't like then maybe our government is not concerned about the people it works for.
With that being said, I appologize for any feathers I have ruffled. I'm pretty sure I won't shut up though.
@Igor, i reply to every single message i receive usually within an hour of receiving them, maybe if you tried sending me mails, i could reply to them, like i have in the past...
On the whole work front...today is Sunday, at least on my planet...so I doubt too many people are working.
When I was minister the pay was worked out on a skill level basis. Certain points gave you pay if you were still an active member. Which i believe fair as it gives them help to buy the higher quality weapons not to feed them that is their job, they should be gifted in war but not fed during peace.
Though i am disappointed to see that the roster no longer exists as far as i can see on the forums. There is no place to sign up and there is no one recruiting new members in the media. The military is falling apart and unless the current minister steps up and organizes as he is supposed to do it will cease to exist.
Yeah what ever happened to this?
I am sure that we should stop arguing, and focus on actually rectifying the problem.
The facts so far are:
One of the IUPmembers notices something wrong with the military system, a thing which the president, 5n4keyes, should have seen the day it happened.
Igor brought it up, so that a promptly solution can be archieved with the input of the public. Posting an article is the fastest way, and insures that as many people as possible debate the issue.
@|Pdiddy: That is what I want to know..the government are however only concerned with trying to make me look bad and have failed to give anything even resembling an answer.
Two days and still no answers?
Once again, the idea of actually following the chain of command is bypassed in an effort to pull the public into something they dont need to worry about.
As the Minister of Defence, I have one question for Mr. Igor. Where is the paperwork? Where is the form, the scale, the information? Not in my hands, thats all im able to say. Apparently there is never an electronic copy of ANYTHING kept without me having to go through some digging.
To Nikita - Saying that a country wants to declare war on us in a newspaper does nothing but incite public panic. Certain topics can be discussed, like a bill in congress, and other topics, such as this one, need to be discussed DIRECTLY with me. I have only had ONE person raise the issue with me, and replied promptly to that person.
On the topic of recruitment,
