Medestrijders,
The longer I think about this, the more sense it starts to make. Im almost at the point of not writing this anymore, because im afraid it will all be known to everybody anyway. However, 3 days ago, this was all a big mystery to me. I started writing, discussing and analyzing the egov database. I wanted to learn more about the excellent growth path. I know, theres a lot more to say about this, than my simplistic approach below, however I want to share the IDEA with you. And especially with you new players. If like me, you started to enjoy this game participating in as many DO's, Missions, RW's as me, STOP! Go back, you are on the wrong track!
As written in a previous article, you have to understand that XP is something dirty. You dont need it and you get it all the time for every action.
What you need is Strength (S) and Rankpoints (RP). These come at a cost of Gold (G) and Experience Points (XP), Gold you pay and XP you get. But it sticks on you like glue, you can never get rid of it anymore. And the sucky part of it: it makes you rank up! Just when you think you are getting stronger and ready for some BH medals, you rank up. And here you are again, in the bottom of a new division.
What you REALLY want is get strong and get rankpoints, but NOT rank up to a new division. There is NO advantage for you there whatsoever.
As written before, this is VERY complex to achieve. Because it means you have to not do a lot of the fun stuff. You have to look for the actions that give you a big amount of S, a big amount of RP and NO XP.
Compare:
Work: 2 XP, 0 S, 0 RP
Train: 3 XP, 5-90 S, 0 RP
DO: 45 XP, 0 S, variable RP (few hundred mostly)
300 kills in a mission: 700 XP (!), 0 S, variable RP
Bazooka: 1 XP, 0 S, 1000 RP (met booster 3000 RP, met extra damage booster 4500 RP)
If you can score maximum S and maximum RP (like by only training and shooting bazooka's with boosters) you will be by far the strongest in your division and reap Battle Hero medals with a few clicks. Now, you cannot do this, but you have to consider your XP with EVERYTHING you do. Because before you know it, you Div up!
This also means, that your national rank (that you see in your profile, you can click last 7 days or all times) is pretty much bull****. I was actually trying to get up on this ladder! Well, basically you dont. You want S and RP.
Some people have mastered this aspect of the game. Some of them have a ratio of XP devided by S of 2,0 or lower. This is very good. It means that they are much stronger than somebody with comparable XP. Most likely, the person with the higher X/S ratio will rank up to a new div soon and will be completely out of place there, while the other person who was already much stronger, still sits comfortably in a lower div.
Here you find the ratio's per Div of eNL players. Players on the left do very well, players on the right have ratio's that dont look too well. They really need to change the way they play. And today, i mean, not tomorrow.
It can be argued if this ratio makes sense for D4. Some say it doesnt. Its true, it doesnt. Well, unless Plato comes with a D5, then it suddenly affects a lot of players again.
Find yourself in the list and use this to your advantage. I dare to say that a ratio of 2,0 is something to aim for. Whoa, that means that for every S per day, you may only score 2 XP. Meaning, if you train at 20 S/day you cannot even DO and work every day. Let alone set the house on fire in the next RW for your country. Or participate in a mission that requires hundreds of kills.
Plato is playing YOU. Just so you know it.
For D2
For D3
For D4

Wallie

Yeah, you can see I started really late with the good training!
If (especially in the lower divisions) you cannot complete your DO every day, just skip fighting altogether a few days per week. Doing the DO the other days gives you bazookas and energy bars, which is probably worth it, unless you want to spend forever working on your strength 😉
If you want to gain a high strength/XP, "two-clicking" is the best approach. Just work for your employer and train, so that you complete your daily tasks (is on average another 1.8 strength/day) and save all your gold (Hard Worker and Super Soldier) for training ground upgrades.
An (international) example of a division 1 player who currently has over 10 strength/XP is http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/7065990 . Basically, this means he has barely fought and worked at all. If he now fights without weapons, he can do 2566 damage per hit. If he uses Q7 tanks that gets tripled.
I want to remark that this is an extreme example. He has apparently started the game with upgrading all his training grounds to Q4, and uses all of them on a daily basis. He could have achieved the same without buying gold if he had had more patience...
The point I wanted to make is that he can easily get battle hero medals now. Yet he still barely fights to avoid getting experience...
Summary: don't fight too much, and especially don't work in your own companies!
Oh, one remark with regard to the article: Don't focus on rank points. You'll automatically get them if you start fighting. And you get more rank points/XP if you have a higher strength.
So strength is simply much more important.
I agree, but thats why i composed the graph and ratio based on Strength only. However, its good to keep in mind that RP is a good thing, and its a component of the damage formula. Thats why i mentioned it.
Good article! Vote+Sub
Voted.
I fight a bit too much for Netherlands and allies : )
same here 🙂
I urge everyone to take Walhallah's suggestions to heart. Although I'm fairly sure that it is too late for me.
Nice article. I was a bit late to start following it, but I still did, and that is why I get boatloads of BHs (172 and counting) as I now do much damage on Div. 3 because I'm very strong and still have some 8000 XP to burn before being promoted to Div. 4.
Thats exactly the correct terminology for XP 'burn'. See it as your fuel. The more you have in stock the better it is. And yes, you are a prime example of how we should play this.
For me, it starts now. (see also my next article)
