Message from the Minister of Defence - eIreland Peace Treaty with eUK *Updated*
Vexing Chaos
Soldiers, citizens, and people of eIreland, I Chance Harrison have bitter news to give and perhaps welcome news to some. As your MoD for over a month now and into my second term I have done my best to do my sworn duty to help us compete on the battlefield and defend our land against our rival and sworn enemy the eUK and rid us of their tyranny. Many battles were won and lost and many a man lost sleep and wealth. Our goal of a whole, free and "united" Ireland is and will always be our ultimate goal.
Today (Day 1,300) our Country President Irasian has decided to accept a proposal by the eUK which affords an end to our long conflict. Just over five hours ago, an emergency meeting was held with the military leaders/representatives of the IA,
The terms are for eIreland to cede possession of Shannon, Ireland for a brief term and that eUK would sign a peace treaty with eIreland bringing an end to our current stalemate. All members of the Dail were not present henceforth a vote was not cast. I can say I will back the CP in his decision and will not look for impeachment since the Dail was not appropriately consulted as he was doing what was in the best interest of our eNation.
There is a current battle in Shannon and all citizens and Soldiers are encouraged not to fight as once it ends eUK shall propose a peace treaty.
Not all of us agree to give up something that is rightfully ours but the possession is temporary and a respite is much needed. I wish to personally thank all those who have fought so hard against a much bigger aggressor and foe. I have personally witnessed many brave and heroic feats from many MUs and allies alike as well as among our own citizens and Soldiers.
eIreland may be small in size and population but our hearts and allies are much bigger and our cause is a just one. Our attention and efforts must now be focused on supporting our allies in eCanada and eFrance and supporting the rest of EDEN.
I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield again shortly.
Hail Ireland!
Sincerely yours,
eIreland Minister of Defence
Always in the fight!

Could you please define "how temporary" will the British occupation in Shanon be?
If I could I would have said so in the announcement bro. More details to follow.
Voted, sometimes pride must be swallowed for the greater good.
While accepting the decision of the elected president, I must declare my uttermost disappointment with the British control over Shannon. This is not peace on equal terms but a shameful surrender.
John Snuggles...couldnt agree more with you!
I am not happy of course, but i think our future lies in this peace 🙂
I have been condemned from both sides of the sea for asking for peace, barak.
Both sides have made it clear to me that a total eIrish surrender is the best option.
We should capitulate to British occupation, so the Brits may focus their energy on on the needs of their alliance. It's for the best, really. The Brits deserve a world where Irish people don't exist. They are better than us, after all.
:/ im not to happy with the terms tbh but it will depend on how temporary this is .
It is good that its over though
I agree with SHM though
SHM the war has ground to a stalemate. We would not win if it continued indefinitely, our allies need our help and this war needs to end.
As I said, I am not happy with the terms, but we must swallow our pride and accept them so our damage can be applied more productively.
What you call a shameful surrender, I consider a tactical retreat. I believe the greater good demands it.
I also applaud Irasian for having the courage to make such a difficult decision, no doubt aware that (while necessary) it would be unpopular.
Although it was perhaps the most sensible and level-headed decision (which given the crazy talk about NI I (honestly) thought you incapable of) I have to say...........Damn!
That's what I get for going out to dinner with the family, I miss this discussion. If I were there, I would have supported this plan, so voted, and I commend everyone on the eIrish side that made this peace do-able.
"The Brits deserve a world where Irish people don't exist. They are better than us, after all."
And yet, here we are.
Fair play for trying Bhane.
I wouldn't call this a surrender.
The war was a stalemate and although this situation is far from ideal or imo fair, for eIreland it shows a lot of maturity.
We care about our allies, they need our help and a huge amount of their resources were being put into this war which was going nowhere.
Anyway sure we'll RW Shannon fast enough 😛
This is a defeat, not a "peace"
Why was ICA not included in emergency or are they finally considered part of IA? Doubt that.
Seriously? They get Shannon and we get nothing? Plus they still have Northern Ireland. We were holding our own; why in the world are we surrendering?
I know when I'm beat, Alfa.
The Brit PTO movement has worked. The Irish now actively want to give up our island, and not fight the Brits. That way the British may focus their energies elsewhere and wipe us, at their leisure, when they can return with an undistracted full allied force.
I apologize everyone for seeking any sort of peace or alliance between the 2 nations. Clearly, both sides have decided that eIreland completely submitting to eUK is best for everyone.
We were holding our own with our allies help, that help is needed more elsewhere. To continue would be selfish IMHO
Bhane, remember what we talked this morning 😉
I think I can speak in the name of our government (France) that this decision is a proof of goodwill from both side and we're truly happy that eIreland & eUK finally found a way to put an end to this senseless war.
I wish that relationships between you will be improved by this act and that eIreland & eUK may become friends in a near future.
Best regards,
Bhane, would you rather our allies go to the wall and get wiped because of us? Chill out.
As long as the British don't backstab us it'll all work out for the best... if they do, then the war continues, and very little changes.
FFS SHM STFU with all your lambasting comments! None of us want to give up a region. I don't agree with it but will back the CP if it makes sense. Do you have a better solution? If not shut that massive hole in your face. Instead of making us hate you how about you propose a better solution. This isn't what I would have in mind myself but I can't always get what I want. We're not giving up. We proposed peace 2x and were shot down. We defended ourselves battle after battle. There's no shame in coming to an agreement. A country of less than 600 vs. 2000+ with Alfagrem, Scymex, Axeil Kong and the rest of ONE. I think we all did pretty well over the past 30+ days.
ICA command has been on-and-off Yddub, I doubt the ones organising the meeting (wasn't any of the military leaders) had any idea who was actually still in charge. I was there though, I'm not ICA but could easily tell you lot about it.
The decision was needed, and by temporary, I believe it means: Until Canada and France no longer need full IRE/UK commitment.
Not that I have any faith in the UK congress, they make Sir_Nick look competent.
Also, Vive la France
Can not believe I am saying this but got to agree with Connell. This war was getting boring, time to more on.
All of EDEN is dead. Ireland only giving Shannon temporarily doesn't sound so bad. Now we can make 10ths of videos about the British occupation and get a baby boom 😛.
Hail Ireland : D
John Snuggles see's things more clearly than anyone in these comments.
Lol, AND I'm drunk
Vodka clears my head, good thing I'm not on the whiskey, the ol credit card might've made an appearance : D
For now, this is the best solution.
Suppose right call for the time being even if its a loss
let us help our allies in times of need

So what will our Greek friends be doing now that we're in a state of peace with my former home?

"FFS SHM STFU"
Is that your argument then? I've said I'm respecting the decision of the elected president. Apparently, for some, that is not enough. We are supposed to be happy about giving up one of our original regions too. Have lust to call me a 'hun PTOer' like Marcus did? Or an 'idiot', who's 'full of shit'? Whatever you call it, it IS a surrender. Do not expect standing ovation.
Llort: Fighting in the RW.
"Suppose right call for the time being even if its a loss
let us help our allies in times of need" x2
temporarily the best solution... as sad it might look

I'm making the tea. Strong coffee for you, Mr Snuggles?
v+s
AND @ Margaret H Thatcher - LOL! I was watching you fighting for the Canadians yesterday!
Wrong buttons, much?
Yes! Finally.
Nope... Why, are we in ONE now?
@Moomoohead
Agreeing with me shouldn't be that much of a challenge.
I would also like to reciprocate what was said by others about Irasian. Standing up and making a decision like this, it's very tough thing to do and it shows a lot of character.
Good fight guys
Irish up that coffee and I'll think about it
Good surrender, would watch again.
Hah! Sure we invented the Irish coffee here in Kerry. 4real.
Foynes special coming up: http://www.flyingboatmuseum.com/images/img_irish1_1.png
I wish someone would breakout the commies cigars, so we could have a proper debate around here.
And budge over Yddub, I'm coming to sit in next to you. Seems ye're in a foul temper, and I know how the blast radius works 😛!
I miss Helia
i would like to see MHT doing 10k of damage for Canada again 😛
Why did Ireland capitulated and surrendered? 🙁
MFW IRELAND SURRENDERED - http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/2277/glorye.jpg
It's childish of the UK to demand Shannon from us. I couldn't see the UK accepting Peace under fair conditions though, so this will have to do.
