Memoir of a soldier, Battle at Jejudo (fictionalized)

Day 1,088, 13:20 Published in South Korea USA by Athasnim
Battle wages around me as I write this account, so much of the writing will be jumbled and disorganized. I ask that my readers excuse the ramble. I know not if I will survive. If I do not, give my regards to all. Let this serve to record my thoughts and share my dreams with you all. eSK forever!

It began, like all great things do; with little fanfare. What was thought to be a storm clouds in the distant horizon were in fact a horde of zerg swarm fast approaching our once peaceful island of Jeju.

Minutes after the eJapanese Impeachment. "WTF I said no rush 15 min!"

Having been in heightened state of alert in the past few days, Me & Wladimir Rascian were making our rounds when we first caught sight of the invading forces.

eJapanese they're everywhere, lotsa lotsa em!

"Wladimir" I shouted. I'll maintain the initial Battle Hero to over 2000 and see if I can attract some
random Medal hunters to our side. Go alert headquarter and tell them to bring out the big guns. I sighted at least 2 Ultralisk tanks as well as a horde of midlevel Hyralisks and 10 squads of Zerglings coming in fast."

"Negative, Athasnim - there aren't too many hunters around this hour, you won't be able to attract any! I can hold this position better then you. You go alert HQ, I'll hold them off as long as I can here. Go Go Go!!!

"Damn it Jim!" I coughed as smell of laser fire and burnt husks filled the air.
"Aint planning to die. Relax I'm gonna go all out and roasts these imperialist pigs" with a wicked smile Wladimir strode off, with both torches blazing.

With a sense of shame I ran, but I vowed to return, to avenge my brother in arms if need be. Looking back, I saw an image that I will never get out of my mind. Wladamir was the picture of the sun incarnate, flames blazing in all directions, surrounded by carnage roasting everywhere. The stink and the black smoke soon obscured my sight of him as he racked up kills after kills. 4000...6000...8000...10,000 Battle points. He singlehandedly kept the Blue Bar from shrinking down to oblivion as the swarm poised over to devour him.

"Come in HQ! Athasnim here!! Major incursion on the Jeju shorefront. Requesting immediate back up ASAP!"

"Roger that 5 by 5. Our forces are not fully mobilized, withdraw your current position and retreat inland and await further orders."

"That's a negative, HQ! We have civilians here caught in the crossfire who are still trying to escape the combat zone. Requesting dropships plus some support fire for evac!"

"Acknowledged, stand by... Drop ships and support troops heading your way."

Battle Cruiser Operational

Not only did HQ send in the dropships, but they sent the Battle Cruiser Jafe as support! HQ had sent in one of eSK's finest. She was a vision of beauty, as she fearlessly zeroed in straight towards the eJapanese battle hero, an ultralisk.

eJapanese Tanks sighted, with over 20,000 battle points.

My hopes rose. Perhaps we had a chance. The battle bar started to rise from low 20% into the 30% as Jafe's laser cannon fired away. However, the ship took heavy damages as she blew away legions of zerg forces out of the air and the ground. Pretty soon, the ailing battle cruiser took over the Battle Hero that was currently set by our Romanian ally ship Veru14, which had laid out massive firepower in the 15000's before going down in flames.

Yet the same time Jafe took over the Battle Hero, and the battle bar rose from the 30's into the 40's, Jafe took a critical hit. Heart in mouth I watched as the proud battle cruiser started to slowly fall out of the sky.

"Deploying SCV units for emergency repair!" I heard the loud crackle of static in the radio background. Jafe drifted out of the sky and disappeared from my view. Such bravery against overwhelming odds. Firebat Wladimir and Battle Cruiser Jafe displaying such courage. A cry of defiance spewing from my lips, I ran towards where Jafe was crashing, and where Wladamir laid down his life. All semblance of tactics thrown out the window, I ran in denial of what I witnessed, determined to avenge them at all costs.

Nor was I alone in witnessing such sacrifice. I caught sight of other solders charging down with me, with battle cry on their lips. I recognized Erkasloska, Stefanzor in my peripheral vision as we slammed ourselves fully into the wall of zergs.

Calvary has arrived, rekindled of its hope and determination.

40...41...42...43%...

My guns started overheating dangerously as I fired away with abandon, determined to reach my destination. 2000...4000...6000...8000...My fellow brothers in arms ran alongside me, all charging in like mad men. Ammunition reaching dangerously low.

44...45...46...47%...

Pretty soon, we run out of steam, and we're soon surrounded by zerglings everwhere. Nowhere to escape... A heavy cast of shadow over me. I look up, and catch sight of Jafe's sister class ship, Battle Cruiser Dan.Catana joining in the nick of time and giving us the final push we need to make it back to the top.

Just as victory seems within our grasp, the Ultralisk rears its awesome head. I recognize the particular breed, its of an Alfred Ball Swarm. Displaying some last minute rage, it makes its push knocking away everything in its path.

Ultralisk Alfredball venting its fury.

The bar stays perilously at 50-50 back and forth as titanic forces clash. Just when all hopes seems lost, Battle Cruiser Dan.Catana fires her Yamato Cannon towards the hulking beast, at the same time the badly damaged but functional Battle Cruiser Jafe once again charges into the scene with her final cannon fire. Combined with bravery from some of the younger soldiers Grizz_X and Buggerit that I was able to personally witness, as the clock winded down to zero, we just managed to push the bar to our decisive victory!

The first wave was pushed back, and I stroder over to the body laying amidst the carnage.

"...Did we do it? Did we hold them off?" asked Wladimir in a weak voice.
"Peace my brother, we did it, we held off the first wave."

"Then I can rest at last, and await the glorious reincarnation as a victorious Sun Child" whispered Wladimir with a smile on his dying face.

"Go into the sunlight my brother. We shall meet again."
