Melchizedek Smith for Prime Minister

Day 682, 03:12 Published in Australia Australia by Melchizedek Smith

G’day eAustralia,

I am releasing this article in amongst a busy schedule to announce that I will be standing to retain the role of Prime Minister in this upcoming term. For those of you newer to the game or just unsure of who I am feel free to read the about me section in my last platform, or have a flick through my earlier articles. Put simply I, Melchizedek Smith, am a loyal citizen of this fine nation, having served her in many respects most notably as the current Prime Minister.

There is a lot I need to cover here now so let’s get down to business.

What’s next for eAustralia

Defence

Currently eAustralia’s military is undergoing a major overhaul. In the past we have had issues surrounding supply and communication which are finally being eradicated. The current team will be working this term to ensure that everyone finds their place in the military and that we attain optimal efficiency. We will be looking at developing focused training in order to build up the strength of our military and also introduce competitive training to boost morale and overall satisfaction with gameplay.

Economy

My team has done well to stabilize the monetary market this term despite the irregularity of wargames. We would be seeking to maintain that standard through the upcoming term. They have also been working particularly hard to minimize spending and increase savings and despite the gold disappearance that was brought forward from last term, we are going to finish the term having more than doubled our gold supply. This is putting us in a solid position for the WA buy back and I will ensure that work continues.

Foreign Affairs

I have been in talks this term with a number of nations looking to strengthen ties with us in the months ahead. To this end I have also been involved in many discussions with the members of Sol to more fully establish this alliance as a defensive alliance focused on political stability and national sovereignty. As these talks progress we will hopefully see an increase in wargames and a greater involvement in global affairs.

Talks regarding the return of WA are also progressing well. Although I have remained relatively quiet on this issue for the last few weeks, this is for good reason. I intend at present to see WA returned to us by the end of the next term.

Also this term we have been busy establishing an ambassador system to get citizens into the wider world representing the nation on a global scale and also keeping us informed of the actions of the wider eRepublik community. This program will come into full swing in the first week of the next term.

Immigration, Customs and Security

Our DoICS have been working well this term, however this model at present is not reaching its full potential so I intend to break down the roles in the new term. Essentially we will have a Department of Immigration which will continue to work on incoming citizens as well as start to work closely with both DoCS to direct and inform those new citizens. There will also be a separate Department of Security which will handle security both internally and externally and report to the DoIm as required.

Cultural Services

Our cultural services team have been hard at work this term messaging incoming citizens and offering them the appropriate guidance and support. This term I hope to refine that work into a slightly more efficient machine, however my main focus will be on increasing the number of initiatives in place to increase domestic growth.

Industry

This term has been a good one for government funded companies, however some of the business models in place need revision. This will be my first task for the DoI in the coming term. Following on from that I hope that the DoI can work closely with the new DoE to create a company mentoring scheme that will work in conjunction with the buyback of WA companies.

Education

The Department of Education will be introduced this term and will have their work cut out for them. They will be established in order to collate and solidify the various programs that currently run in eAustralia, such as Boot Camp and Senate School. They will also be looking into new programs that may be introduced, working with the DoI in establishing the company mentoring scheme and discussing future projects with the DoCS.
