Medic: 9-15 This... is... a horrible meme edition

It's day 300 in Erepublik. We've recently seen a large increase in production for the gift industry. At the current rate, expect gift prices to fall dramatically. Businesses are advised to hold inventory or invest in export licenses.
This brings me to a bit more of a discussion about V1. The V1 economical system will be rearranged into three different sections: construction (housing, hospitals and a new product), manufacturing (gifts, weapons, food and moving) and raw materials (5 different raw materials). This will give employees greater sideways mobility and create competition between business owners for skilled employees.
When V1 drops, both labor and raw materials will be needed in order to create products. This creates three distinct scenarios for V1. The first would be that the admins offer an initial supply of raw materials for sale on the world market. This would allow businesses to produce some product and may help keep prices stable. Second, admins may give all businesses an initial supply of raw materials. This would allow production to continue as normal. Prices would be expected to rise as this initial supply of raw materials is depleted. The third situation is that we start with no raw materials available. Businesses will need to be founded and begin hiring low-skilled workers. This will cause a shortage in all products. This, combined with the likely start of a couple wars, will put some serious pressure on the world market. A sharp rise in prices would be expected in this situation. It is advised that business start saving product in anticipation of V1.

63 Export Licenses held by 28 Companies, with the Top 10 Companies holding 2/3rds of those licenses out of 117 companies is bad.
It means that the majority of the US\'s exporting power is held by only 23% of companies doing business. With 2/3rds of that 23% being 10 Companies. Not a good Metric for those who promote a weaker USD currency to help exports.
Keeping a strong dollar and raising import tariffs would help more companies than a weak dollar policy to help exports. Just my 2 cents.. 🙂
You forget, Alby, that companies must also fight off others importing to our country. If foreign companies are able to cut all but the largest companies out of a market, that 23% is all that\'s going to be left.
P.S. Import tariffs are already at their maximum.
I was gonna say something but pirate beat me to it. Although I agree with the point you made alby, and sometimes a stronger dollar is better, for our markets our less valued dollar benefits all our company owners and then inturn the citizens. With a more valuable dollar a foreign company could export to us and still undercut our prices with a 99% import tax.
Speaking of which. In all honestly the biggest problem we suffer from foreign companies is not those that are imported, but the amount of foreigners who start SOs in the US an start a company. These companies are then funded from overseas, grow very rapidly, and can sell their goods as US good apart from the import taxes and that money still goes out of our country to a degree.
I\'m on the banned list. feels good man
Will the Government pass out hundreds of export licenses to those companies who don\'t have them? Because if its our goal to solve our economic woes through exporting and we plan to weaken the currency to provide for exports, then where are the licenses for over 100 companies? There is a bottleneck in this policy. Because without an export license, the devalued currency will negatively impact all US companies without the ability to export.
