Marius Will be Missed

Day 923, 21:03 Published in Canada Canada by Derek Harland

I must admit eCanada, I have been a 2-clicker for the last month since the end of my term. I have lost most of my interest in this game for now and am slowly waiting for the arrival of v2 which I look forward to greatly. However I do plan on becoming more active again but I am extremely saddened my semi-return is haunted by Marius' death. As I was perusing the articles, shouts and ads of eCanada, I saw many RIPs to Marius. I thought it was just his in-game death or that he was quitting the game. I thought it was the latter due to him telling me he won't be playing for long. It wasn't until I clicked Coda's article I realized this was for real. There is no other word to describe right now than complete shock. I have had many friends move away in real life from me, but never die. And I consider Marius to be one of my good friends in this game.

Marius and I always got along well. He was the spark of the CAF channels and I will never forget his fiery passion for the game as well as his leadership skills to the Privates. He was always a go-to guy as well as one that was assertive, yet caring at the same time. I will never forget the last time we talked. It was during my last week in office and Marius told me he had been booted from #CAFCOM (the CAF High Command channel). I told him that I would likely be staying in the channel and he told me that he was happy to hear so. He said that I was the perfect mix for the channel with the other High Commanders. I told him I would miss him in the channel and try to get him back in. Now I wish I would tell him I would miss him in the game.

Both in real life and in eCanada, Marius or "Scott" will be dearly missed by everyone who know him. He sounded like a guy who would be fun to hang out with and one that could make anyone laugh. He was confident in everything he did and inspired many of the CAF members. He lit a fire under their ass and pushed them to fight harder and put all they had into the duty of a soldier. In eCanada, he was a true soldier and exemplified everything I think eCanadians are. In real life, I guarantee he had the same fighting spirit and was an amazing person all-around. He is in a better place now, I am sure but the loss for the people who knew him is a terrible blow. Anyone who has talked to Marius knows that they will miss him deeply.

I know I will.

You will be missed Marius,
Derek Harland
