Marie - An Austrian Voice

Day 629, 14:06 Published in Austria Austria by Rangeley

With Austria steaming ahead, many are left with a feeling of optimism that isn't felt in most other nations. Marie Von Gablitz is a citizen of Austria, and she shares in this optimism. "I think Austria is going forward, every day there are war games, Salzburg and Tyrol are back to Austria, the new congress members do [their] job and president Lynari is Wunderbar."

But not only is there optimism - there is a sense of community, and willingness to help one another. And for this, she is thankful. "People in Austria are the best friends, when I started this game, I didn't know anything so every day I send PM to other citizen's and asked them many question's, [such as] how to buy food, how to eat, how to fight and other funny questions," she said. "And all of them answered to me and tried to explain me everything."

Unnecessarily apologetic for asking the questions and being curious, she is also not without a realistic view of the developing state of Austria. She moved for a time to Indonesia in order to "take a little cash and gold from them" and bring it back home, recently returning back to Austria after her trip.

She also acknowledged that the biggest thing Austria needs at this point is more citizens - which is one reason she tempered her reaction to the controversial ad campaign for Austria, which she experienced when staying abroad. "Every day we read about war and bad economy and people want something different to see, and the guy have his style in writing news," she said. "Sometimes I didn't liked the pictures in his newspaper, but its interesting to some people." Though, since this interview, it is worth noting the ad has been reposted in a much less risque manner. Perhaps with this more balanced approach, the need for recruitment can be better met, while ruffling fewer feathers along the way.
