Manifesto Introduction: Why Should You Care?

Day 1,684, 19:59 Published in Australia New Zealand by Marcos Arolia

gday Australia

Today I finally release this beginning introduction for my election campaign for Prime Minister for the month of July 2012 under the banner of the APP thus far. This was finished yesterday, but certain real life events interfered with its release. That event is my real life birthday, which also takes place on July the fifth.

During this election, the day of my birth comes ever closer until the elections actually begin. Honestly, being elected a Country President on my birthday is something I have always wanted to do. Call it an edream of sorts if you wish, but it’s one of the reasons I still play eRepublik. However, using this as an excuse for election alone would be unbecoming of me though that does not mean it won't be my campaign theme. Instead I shall earn this election based upon my merits.

Who am I?

My profile

The name I chose for myself is Marcos Arolia (you may call me by any of the ‘adorable’ names I’ve been called throughout e-life.) based upon both elements of my rather short life. I don’t consider myself a politician, though I have been a Party President multiple times. My reasoning behind entering the political is to be useful in some way, no matter how limited it may be. My happiness in this game is and always will be performing actions which benefit as many people as possible, if not everyone (trolling can be considered positive if you don’t use it to incite stupidity and it is actually humourous.)

What have I done?

I’m not the person who will name all of his accomplishments in any sort of manner on my own unless to explain something. It has always been my view that my actions in the present should speak more than what I have done in the past. But since people will complain if I don’t do this, here are what I consider to be the positions which I consider to have had value to you:

Ambassador to Slovakia (Czechoslovakia) from Spain
Party Presidencies (all five of them)
Senator/Congressman
Minister of Education/Director of Internal Affairs
Minister of Foreign Affairs (Americas)

What I want to do?

If it is not obvious by now, I desire to be Prime Minister this month. The better question would be ‘What do I want to do as Prime Minister?’ To summarise:

1)Reform the Defence Department and ADF so that eAustralia can be more effective militarily.
2)Improve our recruitment efforts by allowing eRepublik to become more visible to RL Aussies through the Education and Information Departments.
3)Vastly improve our internal communications and the way we see one another (leading by example)
4)Possibly implementing a scheme to make Australia more attractive to potential immigrants through the Immigration Department.
5)Give a slight restructure to the Foreign Affairs Department so the Minister does not have to do so much.
6)Whatever else is required during my Government.

Conclusion:

This is only the beginning of my campaign, a sort of introduction for those who do not know me. It has been a complaint that previous campaigns have not been much in the ideas. It is not my nature to make empty promises which I do not honour, but I can promise this much (maybe?): this campaign will have ideas instead of just platitudes.

Thank you (I can use English when the situation requires it) for your precious time.
