Making Sense of Alphabet Soup

Since we don’t have a decent tutorial in this game, a number of very experienced players have written guides to various aspects. In this series of articles I will try to extract the most useful parts, and will shamelessly copy from the originals as needed!



Part I: What the alphabet soup really means:

POLITICAL TERMS:

CP: Country President, who that runs the country (in case of a Dictatorship, the one who advises the Dictator on how to proceed).
PP: Party President, who runs a party and organizes their congress lists.
CS: Citizenship, basically what nation you belong to.
PTO: Political Takeover, where some foreigners come into the nation and take power for their nation or group.
ATO: Opposite of a PTO, where you try to take measure to get rid of the foreigners.
Mo😨 Minister/Ministry of Defence, works with the CP to ensure we are maximising our military efficiency and fighting the right wars.
MoHA: Minister/Ministry of Home Affairs, basically runs some domestic stuff.
MoE😛 Minister/Ministry of Education, the ministry responsible for helping players learn more about the game.
MoFA: Minister/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, maintains existing and creates new relationships with other countries.
MoF: Minister/Ministry of Finances, looks after our finances and organisations.
The top 5: The top 5 parties in rank that get a congress list.


MILITARY TERMS:

MPP: Mutual Protection Pact, the friendship statement that lets countries do damage for each other without moving people around.
NAP: Non-Aggression Pact, where two countries agree not to fight each other.
NE: Natural Enemy, a designation given an enemy country following a Congress vote.
RW: Resistance War, a war supported by citizens to remove foreign control of our traditional territories.
MU: Military Unit. A group of fighters working together; an MU can provide rewards to its members.
RH: Resistance Hero Medal, gives 5 gold for supporting a resistance war then winning it.
BH: Battle Hero Medal, awarded for doing the most damage in your division in a round of fighting.
CH: Campaign Hero Medal, awarded for getting the highest damage in a particular campaign.
TW: Training war, a war for training citizens, not for any long term occupation.
SS: Super Soldier Medal, 5 gold awarded for getting a 250 strength.
NE: Natural Enemy. When a country sets an NE it's a free war and +10% battle influence.
Tank: A player that fights a lot using a load of energy bars and has great strength.
GOW: God of War. A military rank –honestly!
FF: Food Fights, number of fights possible with the current amount of energy (this is rarely used)

COMMON PARTY ABBREVIATIONS:

PCP: People’s Communist Party
TUP: The Unity Party
UKPP: United Kingdom Progression Party
UKRP: United Kingdom Reform Party
WRP: Workers Rights Party

ECONOMIC ABBREVIATIONS:

MM: Monetary Market
CC: Country Currency or Citizenship Currency
WaM: Working as manager, where you work in your own companies.

MEDALS:

HW: Hard Worker medal - if one has worked for 30 days.
SS: Super Soldier medal - if one has achieved strength of 250.
BH: Battle Hero medal - if one has had the biggest amount of influence points in a battle.
RH: Resistance Hero medal - if one has supported and fought in a successful resistance war.
CH: Campaign Hero medal - if one has had the biggest influence in the whole campaign.
SB: Society Builder medal - if one has invited 10 people to Erepublik.
MMM: Media Mogul medal - if one has reached 1000 subscribers to their newspaper.
TP: True Patriot medal - if one has reached a certain amount of influence fought for their country.

OTHER TERMS:

FP: Forfeit Point, also known as Fame Points. Admins give you them for things like flaming, spamming or cheating.
Multi: A very illegal second account. Great way to get yourself banned from the game.
Q[Number]: Quality, as in weapon or food quality.
IRC: Internet Relay Chat
PM: Private Message – a message inside the game
IGM: Ingame Message – same as PM
PVT: private talk – private conversation on IRC
IRL/RL: (in) real life
Q: quality
org: Organisation – country accounts for military, ministries etc.
acc: account
XP: experience points
BB: Baby Boom – lots of new players coming into the country in the same time
lvl: level of a player
g: gold
sub: subscribe - when someone subscribes to a newspaper
TC: Training Center
