Make The Right Choice
Ind1anMartyr
Dear all,
This is a short explanation of potentially a very important event in our Foreign Affairs that is likely to come to the fore sooner rather than later.
Let's begin with the chronology of events since the last month -
1. A month or so ago, EDEN hurriedly accepted Turkey into the alliance. This came as a surprise for most, since not many had expected Greece and Bulgaria to okay it but it seems the motion got a 100% approval. To add fuel to fire, EDEN even relaxed the mandatory 3 month trial period to only 1 month!
2. In the days to come, this unleashed a wave of resentment within Bulgaria - who cannot forget the days where differences with Turkey were a crucial factor in their exiting PHOENIX.
3. The nation was divided between those who would go for logic and those who would rather prefer to stand alone, than accept what they regard as an irreconcilable enemy.
4. After much discussion with EDEN, it was decided that Bulgaria would have a referendum at the end of a month and decide on the final voting.
5. I have had a look at the referendum (which was held through yesterday) and it seems the number of citizens AGAINST Turkey's entry into EDEN exceeds those that support it.
6. The last few days have seen quite a few ugly troll articles and through all this, it is admirable that most Turks have kept themselves in check but it seems a foregone conclusion that this 'union' will most likely not work.
THE POSSIBLE AFTERMATH?
___________________________________________________
Various possibilities ...
a. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and joins ONE.
b. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and becomes neutral.
c. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and forms a local Balkan alliance with perhaps Rep. of Macedonia and maybe Iran? (least likely actually - im just thinking aloud)
d. Turkey leaves EDEN and joins ONE.
e. Turkey leaves EDEN and stays neutral.
f. Turkey leaves EDEN and forms an alliance with Greece and Cyprus? (again unlikely)
g. General chaos and fracturing of EDEN leading to a resurgence of ONE (quite likely! the first salvo was fired yesterday with Flausino doing some serious damage for Macedonia against Turkey)
h. Everything gets resolved with skilled diplomats and everything is as hunky dory as before (the option that I am really hoping for!)
HOW DOES THIS IMPACT US?
____________________________________________________________
None of this looks good and we have some serious thinking to do. We are in GEA/EDEN and thus should be supporting them.
If in the case that Turkey stays in EDEN and Bulgaria leaves, what will we decide to do?
Let me remind you about Bulgaria and our relations since the last few months.
Bulgaria are not only an ally, they are like the big brothers we have never had. We have forged a real bond with Bulgaria that we had never been able to do in the past.
The burning question then would be - EDEN or Bulgaria?
Frankly I do not think Bulgaria would go against EDEN or join ONE, I reckon they would just not support Turkish battles even if they leave the alliance or turn neutral...so this question may not arise.
However the government has to think long and hard and IF/WHEN its time to make a choice - remember, brotherhood is the strongest bond. Never betray your brothers for a diplomatic decision that might bring temporary safety and profit and endless ridicule.
I for one, would never betray Bulgaria and I hope the nation agrees with me.
Just a parting thought - Sometimes India has been guilty of taking wrong decisions (in the past) Think long and hard and think with the heart - this is a darned GAME where pixels mean nothing but friendship is to be cherished.

First yeah!!!!!!
Whether or not Bulgaria leaves EDEN, they are our own brothers... Cheers!
Thanks for shedding some light on this controversy.
Internal tension within EDEN is not healthy for the alliance. One thing we took pride within this alliance was brotherhood not damage. We defended our allies and friends with our limited resources while ONE continued aggression against our nations and even their own. The war against ONE hasn't ended and therefore we need to get our things together.
In an ideal world, I personally would hope Turkey and Bulgaria come into a safe understanding. Indian government will continue to closely monitor this situation.
This is not even a tough choice. Eden means nothing while Bulgaria means everything. We go where Bulgaria goes.
Bulgaria should know that they will never be alone whether in or out of EDEN.
Whatever the decision Bulgaria makes, they are our big brothers.
We got to respect and support their decision.

c. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and forms a local Balkan alliance with perhaps Macedonia and maybe Iran?
the best idea of all
Hail Bulagria
Hail Macedonia
(макар че за сожаление знам оти идеата не е созреала ни од двете страни)
Well, I am upset with the decision of my people to veto Turkey. I am upset because there is not a single logical argument showing why Turkey is being blocked actually. This is not fair towards Turkey and towards all fellow EDEN countries as well.
Gigantic Hail to India! +1
Hail Bulgaria..
Hail India..
I agree BUT me not being an RL Bulgarian, I cannot comment on t5hings. All I can do is to help my countrymen ruminate over what really matters : )
A perfect assessment of the situation.
First, thank you for the support, as always India is there when we need them.
I want to shed a little more light if I can.
The referendum that is being held is required by law (what we have put forward as a constitution) basically in making such decisions that have profound importance or there is a heavy debate in the Bulgarian community.
Entering or leaving an alliance if not something that clearly is supported by everyone will require the same.
As for the actual result from it. It is unlikely it will be in favor of accepting Turkey as a member of EDEN, like you they're currently not a full member. The main reason for this is the special treatment that was given to Turkey despite that everyone knew that there will be opposition to this in Bulgaria. Here there is some responsibility of the representative of Bulgaria in EDEN when the vote was made.
The future.
If ONE falls apart it is likely there will be a new redrawing of the geopolitical map and it will be expected of Bulgaria to assume a leading position, it has not done so in it's history yet, it remains to be seem weather it wants/is ready to do so. Until then Bulgaria like always remains committed to it's allies, this action of Bulgaria will likely give a spark to ONE thinking they can turn the war, this will entirely depend on the reaction of EDEN HQ and to a lesser extent of Croatia and Greece who stood to gain the most out of Turkey entering the alliance.
Italy has become the first victim of it, we will see if this will be exasperated or all sides will realize, that at the current moment things can remain as they are for the time being.
EDEN is EDEN, turkey do whatever they want. That's how I see it.

Very nice job.
Please use the proper word for the country that is located North of Greece. I was a little confused. Macedonia is a Greek region, not a country. Probably you mean FYROM.
