Make The Right Choice

Day 1,513, 19:04 Published in India Serbia by Ind1anMartyr

Dear all,

This is a short explanation of potentially a very important event in our Foreign Affairs that is likely to come to the fore sooner rather than later.

Let's begin with the chronology of events since the last month -

1. A month or so ago, EDEN hurriedly accepted Turkey into the alliance. This came as a surprise for most, since not many had expected Greece and Bulgaria to okay it but it seems the motion got a 100% approval. To add fuel to fire, EDEN even relaxed the mandatory 3 month trial period to only 1 month!

2. In the days to come, this unleashed a wave of resentment within Bulgaria - who cannot forget the days where differences with Turkey were a crucial factor in their exiting PHOENIX.

3. The nation was divided between those who would go for logic and those who would rather prefer to stand alone, than accept what they regard as an irreconcilable enemy.

4. After much discussion with EDEN, it was decided that Bulgaria would have a referendum at the end of a month and decide on the final voting.

5. I have had a look at the referendum (which was held through yesterday) and it seems the number of citizens AGAINST Turkey's entry into EDEN exceeds those that support it.

6. The last few days have seen quite a few ugly troll articles and through all this, it is admirable that most Turks have kept themselves in check but it seems a foregone conclusion that this 'union' will most likely not work.

THE POSSIBLE AFTERMATH?
___________________________________________________

Various possibilities ...

a. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and joins ONE.

b. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and becomes neutral.

c. Bulgaria leaves EDEN and forms a local Balkan alliance with perhaps Rep. of Macedonia and maybe Iran? (least likely actually - im just thinking aloud)

d. Turkey leaves EDEN and joins ONE.

e. Turkey leaves EDEN and stays neutral.

f. Turkey leaves EDEN and forms an alliance with Greece and Cyprus? (again unlikely)

g. General chaos and fracturing of EDEN leading to a resurgence of ONE (quite likely! the first salvo was fired yesterday with Flausino doing some serious damage for Macedonia against Turkey)

h. Everything gets resolved with skilled diplomats and everything is as hunky dory as before (the option that I am really hoping for!)

HOW DOES THIS IMPACT US?
____________________________________________________________

None of this looks good and we have some serious thinking to do. We are in GEA/EDEN and thus should be supporting them.

If in the case that Turkey stays in EDEN and Bulgaria leaves, what will we decide to do?

Let me remind you about Bulgaria and our relations since the last few months.

Bulgaria are not only an ally, they are like the big brothers we have never had. We have forged a real bond with Bulgaria that we had never been able to do in the past.

The burning question then would be - EDEN or Bulgaria?

Frankly I do not think Bulgaria would go against EDEN or join ONE, I reckon they would just not support Turkish battles even if they leave the alliance or turn neutral...so this question may not arise.

However the government has to think long and hard and IF/WHEN its time to make a choice - remember, brotherhood is the strongest bond. Never betray your brothers for a diplomatic decision that might bring temporary safety and profit and endless ridicule.

I for one, would never betray Bulgaria and I hope the nation agrees with me.

Just a parting thought - Sometimes India has been guilty of taking wrong decisions (in the past) Think long and hard and think with the heart - this is a darned GAME where pixels mean nothing but friendship is to be cherished.
