Make Our Voices Heard

Day 1,402, 14:55 Published in South Africa South Africa by Oceanus
Hello South Africa,

The media module has changed again. The 'news' option has been removed from the community tab and it is becoming increasingly difficult to quickly access the media.

As I saw this I had a pang of feeling similar to what I felt when eSouth Africa was in exile during the first Brazilian invasion. It wasn't easy to hold the community together when the media module was not yet tied to citizenship. Alternative measures had to be taken. We placed [South Africa] in front of our articles so that they could be found when published in Brazil, this is when Krimpie made the #eSouth_Africa IRC channel, and this was when the national forum first became more used.

This new change, however, effects the entire eWorld. The media module is what ties us together. I'm afraid that the admins have a vendetta against the news because of the quitting caused by mass complaining. But the game has improved a lot. And the only thing I have to complain about now is the media module itself. This is a social game primarily. The functions of fighting, working and training are all just actions we take as the outcome of our different social organizations. It is community that gives us a reason to fight.

For now the news pages are still accessible, but the few extra clicks can be very deterring. Especially for new players that don't yet understand how to reach all of the pages in-game.

I sought to take action to stop eSA's voice from being drowned here, and action is also needed today in another way. With a little bit of extra effort we can reverse the effects of these changes to the media module.

To get around the useless categorized buttons on the front page, use these links.
South Africa
International
In the tradition of the old module.

I have placed them in my browser's bookmark bar and I encourage everyone else to do the same.
Its also important to educate new players on how to reach the media. Take action, be a mentor to one of our newer citizens. Tell them the importance of reading articles and staying connected and involved with the community.

Congress
On a side note, I'll be running for congress in Limpopo in three days.
I think most of you already know who I am.
You have my promise that I will work for the betterment of eSouth Africa, and I would be honored to receive your votes.

Until next time
