The winds of change are upon us here in the Netherlands. Soon van Spijck's six month reign as our President will come to end and with it his successor will be named. I have ran for and won the nomination bid to represent GPN in the forthcoming CP elections and would be honoured if all citizens would put their faith in me as they have van Spijck for the past six months. When I first came to the Netherlands I must admit it was a bit intimidating. I was coming from the top of the political scale straight down to the bottom again. I didn't know many people of course but that would change. I was soon warmly welcomed into GPN and into the close knit community we call home here in the Netherlands. I took up a couple jobs as an Ambassador but three months ago that's when things started changing. My party had more confidence in me and showed it when they elected me the leader of GPN not just once but three times with each time my vote increasing. I hope that this confidence in my leadership in party politics can be transferred nationally and that I can not only be someone who can gain the confidence of his party but the confidence of people from all parties.

If its one thing I know its that from when I first stepped foot into the Netherlands all those months ago until now its that I have grown up a lot. I have transformed into a new person since I first arrived. I am committed to continue growing with all of you and with the Netherlands. Now more than ever it is important that we do this. With not just our younger citizens leaving but now our experienced members leaving to it is prudent that we grow together and that our younger generation step up to the challenge presented before us.

I worked hard to make GPN grow, and managed. I have the same ambition for eNL, but growth is not to only to be measured by regions, numbers or members. In the end, it is the combination of creativity, perseverence and activity that make the difference between naming problems and solving them. I will not solve all of our problems, but I will give you all I got.

Nederland staat een nieuwe wind te wachten. Binnenkort zal van Spijck's zes maandenlange Presidentschap eindigen en zijn opvolger worden benoemd. Ik heb me hiervoor beschikbaar gesteld en de kandidatuur gewonnen om GPN in de komende verkiezingen te vertegenwoordigen. Ik zou het als een eer beschouwen als onze burgers hun vertrouwen in mij zouden stellen zoals ze dat in van Spijck hebben gedaan in de afgelopen 6 maanden. Toen ik arriveerde in eNederland was ik eerlijk gezegd nogal geintimideerd. Ik kwam van bovenaan in de politieke schaal ineens op de bodem terecht. Ik kende bijna niemand, maar dat veranderde snel. Ik werd al snel warm verwelkomd binnen GPN en de hechte gemeenschap die we hier in eNederland thuis noemen. Ik nam enkele banen aan als Ambassador maar drie maanden geleden begon het voor mij pas echt te veranderen. Mijn partij liet zien echt vertrouwen in me te hebben door me te kiezen als de leider van GPN - niet een keer maar drie keer en steeds met een groeiend aantal stemmen. Ik hoop dat het vertrouwen in mij als partijpresident kan worden overgedragen op nationaal niveau en dat ik niet alleen als persoon in staat zal zijn het vertrouwen te winnen van mijn partij maar het vertrouwen van mensen uit alle partijen.

Als er een ding is waar ik me van bewust ben, is het dat ik persoonlijk sterk gegroeid ben in al die maanden sinds ik hier voet aan de grond zette. Ik ben veranderd in een nieuw persoon ten opzichte van de persoon die hier arriveerde. Ik wil me inzetten om te blijven groeien, samen met jou en met heel Nederland. Dat is nu meer dan ooit belangrijk. Met niet alleen jongere spelers die vertrekken maar nu ook onze ervaren leden vertrekken is het noodzakelijk dat we samen doorgroeien en dat ook de generatie na ons naar voren treedt om de uitdaging aan te gaan die voor ons ligt.

Ik heb er hard aan gewerkt om GPN te laten groeien, en ben daarin geslaagd. Ik heb dezelfde ambitie voor eNL, maar groei is niet alleen te meten met regio’s, getallen of leden. Uiteindelijk is het de combinatie van creativiteit, volharding en activiteit die het verschil maken tussen het benoemen van problemen en het oplossen ervan. Ik zal niet al onze problemen oplossen, maar zal het alles geven wat ik heb.
