Company (military unit)

A company is a military unit, typically consisting of 80–250 soldiers and usually commanded by a major or a captain. Most companies are formed of three to six platoons, although the exact number may vary by country, unit type, and structure. Several companies are grouped to form a battalion or regiment, the latter of which is sometimes formed by several battalions.

Military unit eRep

Military units are groups of citizens with members and leaders. Military units can be used to manage different kind of armies such as national or private armies.

Each Military unit (MU) is divided into Regiments, which represent divisions of the MU.

Captain (MU)

Captains are appointed leaders of the Regiments and are a part of the command chain of the Military Unit. A Military Unit Commander can appoint Captains, as long as the Regiment has 20 or more full members.

Captain (armed forces)

The army rank of captain (from the French capitaine) is a commissioned officer rank historically corresponding to the command of a company of soldiers. The rank is also used by some air forces and marine forces. Today, a captain is typically either the commander or second-in-command of a company or artillery battery (or United States Army cavalry troop or Commonwealth squadron). In the Chinese People's Liberation Army, a captain may also command a company, or be the second-in-command of a battalion.

In NATO countries, the rank of captain is described by the code OF-2 and is one rank above an OF-1 (lieutenant or first lieutenant) and one below an OF-3 (major or commandant). The rank of captain is generally considered to be the highest rank a soldier can achieve while remaining in the field.

Reconnaissance Company


United States Marine Corps Light Armored Reconnaissance

The United States Marine Corps Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalions, or LAR Battalions, are fast and mobilized armored terrestrial reconnaissance units that conduct reconnaissance-in-force (RIF) ahead of the battalion landing teams or division infantry forces. They mainly provide the Marine Air-Ground Task Force and the Marine Expeditionary Unit commanders vital intelligence of the enemy.

They perform their methods as special motorized, infantry-based reconnaissance units as they are equipped with LAV-25s to quickly penetrate enemy lines and locate and/or harass any enemy forces to determine their size, strengths, location, and any other pertinent information requested of the Marine commanders.

Technical Test Center is a military scientific research institution of the Serbian Armed Forces, authorized for the final, verification and homologation testing of armament and military equipment and metrology for all Serbian defense system.

Tests determine the degree of satisfaction of the set of tactical and technical requirements and compliance of armaments and military equipment with the technical regulations in the field of defense.

Technical Test Center deals with scientific research in:
