Life of an Airborne Trooper

Our next public speaker is one of the more internationally known of the eUS Airborne's dedicated soldiers. Former eSouth African President and Minister of Defense, a Media Mogul, and a pleasure for me to call a partner-in-arms: Lieutenant Ines Schumacher, Commanding Officer of the 1st Platoon of the Airborne's 82nd Division.

I joined the Airborne right after I ended my second term as eSouth Africa’s President in December 2009. My term was fraught with controversy as I region-swapped Brazil to Australia’s border in order to limit the seats we had for eSA's Congress, given the fact that we had channers in our midst. The resulting backlash as Brazil attacked Australia, combined with my account being hacked by that same group of channers, made me lose all interest in the game. However, fellow eSouth Africans who were serving in the eUS Airborne told me to apply for a position in the elite fighting unit, so I gave it a shot.

Despite much of EDEN believing I was a Phoenix sympathizer, the commanders of the Airborne accepted me, believed in me, and willingly gave me a chance to kick some Phoenix @$$ with them. And that I did. As an eSouth African, I had never had much of a fighting experience apart from Training Wars, and the sheer exhilaration of bringing down a wall alongside fellow fighters during a mass attack was addictive. Fighting in battles worldwide and knowing that I was making a difference felt fantastic, and rejuvenated my interest in the game.

Shortly after being accepted, some people made a fuss over the fact that I had been accepted into the Airborne. I made ready to leave, but the commanders of the Airborne fiercely defended my right to be part of their branch, and stood by their decision. They believed in me when no one else would. It was then I realized the Airborne is a family. I am honored and humbled to be a part of it.

Since joining, I’ve reached my in-game Field Marshal rank and been promoted to lead a platoon in one of the three Airborne divisions, after proving myself to be hard-working and dedicated. Even though my political scandal has blown over by now, I would never consider leaving the Airborne. I have become part of a band of brothers that has been with me through thick and thin, and I will fiercely defend their honor just as they have defended mine.

You do not need your own political scandal to join-- far from it! If you’re an older player over 20 strength and you’re losing interest in the game, the Airborne is the place to be. You receive five high-quality weapons a day and have the option to work in Airborne companies; you are sent into the toughest and most exciting battles on a regular basis; and you are counted among the elite fighters in the New World. But the best part of the Airborne, by far, has to be our IRC channel where we all hang out together.

Fill out an application today! I would consider myself honored to fight alongside you.
