Life in Austronesia.
Raxo
I have been a citizen of Austronesia for 1 Month now. I have never been outside Austronesia and have always found life here difficult for so many reasons.
1. The Government
The Government of Indonesia for a large part simply ignores Australians. Not publishing statements in English. The Welcome Message not being given an English Translation just proves this will never change no matter how many times we ask to be treated as equals. We are constantly treated as second class citizens by our occupiers. Services that are othered to Indonesians are not offered to Australians. If they are we don't hear about them because they don't communicate with us. It's quite frankly tiring trying to live in a country that won't listen, won't change and certainly won't respect you.
2. Language Barrier
Every article an Australian writes is barrarged with comments in Bahasa Indonesia either ridiculing us or just being unpolite in general. Of course they are free to do so. I might just start speaking French in your articles/ Be about as useful wouldn't it?
3. Parties
All Parties every last one of them in the Top 5 has the same attitude to Australians. Translations for campaign pieces? Nah screw them Australians who needs those extra 50 or so votes anyway? Not us that's for sure. So really all hope of any Australian looking to intergrate into Indonesian Politics is shot down by all parties straight away.
So there you go basicly it all comes down to one thing: Language but this is such a problem it makes life in Austronesia extremely difficult. It is though but one of the reasons we want Independence. We Australians want a home. Right now most of us are in other countries intergrating into their societies but all not really feeling that we are home. Though we have made friends in places like the United Kingdom, USA, Canada and South Africa and we thank them for treating us with dignity and respect. Having our home back is the ulimate dream.
We will be a natiuon once again please join http://www.aussierepublik.com and join the community vying for Independence from Indonesian Occupation. Help us get our home back...

hemm, a barrier indeed. imagine there's only one language in this world...
@benben
and the language would be "BAHASA eINDONESIA"
😁
@pe2s, and I'll be damned..
Btw, do you want my weapon company? Anyone want my company?
I shed a tear for the Austronesians 🙁
We will come for you soon!!
Oh and Indonesians?
Waka waka waka waka waka waka waka waka. Waka waka! Waka waka waka?
What? You cant understand that? What a shame!
English speaker think that everyone should speak their language, c mon you live in the multicultural world. ... don't be racist
I feel sorry about the problems. I think Indonesian Goverment should be concern about that issues above so we could life together peacefully. At least, we need to have some chairs for aboriginal in cabinet/congress so they can fight for their voices.
how can u dont know if indonesian speaking bahasa indonesia ??
indonesia build from so many race. u so lucky we write article using bahasa indonesia not using our local language.
this is the time for u all to learn bahasa indonesia, so next time u will don`t have any problem when go to bali 😃

dasar londo koplak
I'll join the resistance once the war is started 🙂
if we decide to use like, padang language, most of us will still understand. So consider we are still genereous because there are google to translate Bahasa Indonesia
wah nih londo pamer mentang2 bisa boso ne wong paris.
tibak ne nang endi2 londo yo podo ae. menang gaya tok
and we use english in english article.. Fair enough doesnt?
semarangindah that is a great step to take.
Also the political party that makes an ENglish translation of their policies has a much greater chance of getting the Aussie votes
Lah sinau boso indo tha mas.... ben tambah pinter...
ne wis pinter ta ajarke boso jowo pa sunda... kursus gratis wis..
i dont understand padang language ... but javanese and banjarese languages are okay 😁
here's the problem ...
most of Indonesians understand English, lucky both Indonesian language and English use latin alphabet
however, it is a different case when Indonesians have to use English in their article: most of us cannot do that
we're good at reading English, but most of us lack the skill to write article in English
yes, we do understand that Australians want a place called home, that is why we started the conference last time to negotiate that, we set the time and date, we used English for that conference, we even used the less popular MSN, just to make Australians understand us
The language barrier will end up a nuisance for Australians, it's not because we're racist, but simply because... well... Simply 'cause we tend to just speak english. We don't mean to be racist (At least, not myself) but you've taken our country and riddled it with things that we can't understand. Now, I would understand if you expected us to write things correctly so that they can be easily translated, but you've come to a completely foreign place and taken over. What did you expect? For us all to switch over to Indonesian text? If you did, think again.
All we want is the government (or anyone) to tell us, in english, what the government is up to. We don't want every newspaper translated.
Hi Raxo, i will join Fight For Freedome (FFF), but aussie should ask for international help, or help others FFF & then with other rebells help can start an FFF with good chance for succes.
Just an idea.
another useless and junk article...
want your land back... try your best...
remember your president start it first...
we gave you a chance trough diplomacy, you call us greedy...
OMG...!!!
"All we want is the government (or anyone) to tell us, in english, what the government is up to. We don't want every newspaper translated."
Indeed I couldn't care less if I get average joe news in English. I just want the GOVERNMENT to publish official statements in English. We will be having a BIG boom of Aussies soon with eR officially launched to the world.
Hardly racism to ask for a simple translation once you took our country by force.
To the person above me it's not junk we need to get the message out. It's relevant to Erepublik. I'm not telling you about what I had for lunch here or discussing what Hat the hot celebs are wearing.
You obviously haven't read the transcripts to those discussions either...
Sure eIndonesian gov. should appoint aussie as one of their member of parliament or mayor....
I will propose to eIndonesian government to give you scholarship for study eIndonesian culture and language, If you need a short translator, U could use Google translator.
wakakakaka londo wagu. londone kesel dhewe. sukur kowe. wakakaka. wis sukur nganggo bahasa indonesia, ora nganggo sing liyane. mangga londo2 edan pada sinau bahasa indonesia.
somehow this is a good article..
i believe the TS wanted to blend culturally and he just didn't find the way
i also found a good idea here from Rama 9..
but, still you have to be a good politician
cheers
I think that's because you tried to discriminate yourself...
Australia has been a part of Indonesia, So, you should be able to understand the language....
why aussie people didn't want TRY to speak in Indonesian? It is time to learn other's culture...we as Indonesian learn how to speak english, why you people don't? Ladies and Gentlement, language is not a reason to start a war...for real!
maybe the reason that people won't understand ourself because we won't understand them...so please, think it through. For both eAussie and eIndonesia
Well to be short, no matter what Australia will always be connected to Indonesia, We just don't seem to like each other at the moment.
Australians just don't like foreign language i guess.
@ollie: from my experiences, I think it's not just australians, but also people from english-spoken countries... uhm, pride?
u hit the spot dude, its our pride i guess. i myself dont like the thought of being held down, the language does not bother me, i actually relish the oppotunity to learn it.. its just the way sum people go about things in both sides that i dislike, some aussies are acting completely unaussie, but there are also indonesians ive noticed that r a little stubborn. for instance that serenity guy.
"why aussie people didn't want TRY to speak in Indonesian?"
1) You took our country by force.
2) I'm studying for a degree in the UK right now. Learning the language is a low priority because of that.
3) You took our country. It's not like I've moved here and expected you all to speak English. You came here with Troops and FORCED it upon us.
@ Raxo
I'm not force you to speak on Indonesian...We took your country by force its true, but its because we took it by war. I don't know if we can took another country by diplomacy or something in erepublik, but its true we already through a war on the past. But it is neccessary to connect it with our differentation in language? Maybe your delegation can speak to our president or something. We can be a Big Nation if we doing this together
@Broadside
I'm proud for your pride on nationalism, it is important for all of us, either Indonesian or Australian. I also recognize that some of Indonesian are more aggressive than other, but its because Indonesian people also has pride with their language, so why can't we respect each other?? Did we really must through the war path??
If there's word that offense anyone, im saying sorry 🙂
