Liaoning falls to EDEN

The Mighty Fortress of Liaoning, one of the great pillars of Phoenixes Asian Empire has fallen. Late breaking reports confirm the EDEN Battle Standard and the Stars and Stripes have been hoisted over the administrative center in Shenyang City. This has concluded one of the largest 1 v 1 battle in the history of eRepublik, with US and EDEN forces bringing down a wall that reached over 1.2 million points at times throughout the day.

For Iran, this defeat lands a devastating and permanent blow to its economy. They will never again be able to retake Liaoning province without first marching through India and China. Should they lose their remaining Province in India, Pakistan would have to be added to the list. For a medium grade power, the loss of income this brings will be ruinous to Iran’s Tanking ability, and we can expect that their military capacity will be immediately reduced as consequence. As a final insult to Iran, the defense of Liaoning cost the country the bulk of their national treasury. A sum they will now have a hard time recovering thanks to the destruction of a Q5 Hospital, the need to move thousands of people out of Liaoning, and the loss of all those wonderful Iron mines.

Of course, Iran is only one third of the fight in America’s Asian Campaign. With the capture of Liaoning, the path to Heilongjiang is now open. Phoenix soldiers will be fleeing Iran tonight, heading for Hungary in preparation for the coming clash between the EDEN and Phoenix superpowers. While Liaoning was essential for Iran’s power, Heilongjiang is essential for the power of the entire Phoenix Alliance. Hungary possesses the highest concentration of high level citizens on the planet. While we often see this power on display during battles, we forget Strength is not the only thing that gets better with time. Manufacturing and Land working gets better too. This combination of high population and high skill makes Hungary’s Heilongjiang the most productive region in the world, a veritable gusher of cheap Iron and guns. It also provides Hungary with a massive tax base with which to fund its wars against EDEN. Liaoning might have been epic, but it won’t hold a candle to what will happen when the US finally strikes Heilongjiang.

This battle also marks a major milestone for the EDEN Alliance, as it is the first time EDEN as an Alliance has prevailed against Phoenix offensively outside North America. This was a 1 v 1 one battle, which meant it put EDEN’s Mobile Forces against those of Phoenix. The failure of the Phoenix Alliance to rally a sufficient defense for Liaoning speaks volumes about the dedication and coordination of EDEN’s soldiers. Of particular note is the strength of the vaunted EDEN Mobile Corps (EMC), which earned a fearsome reputation during the North American War. PEACE GC was never able to create a true copy of the EMC, and as a result PEACE often found themselves suffering from catastrophic wall flips the moment EDEN commenced the final tanking effort. Even so, Hungary managed to put an impressive 1 million points on the wall with their mobile forces. If EDEN is to take Heilongjiang, the United States will need the maximum support of all the member nations of EDEN. To that end…

This went on after publication. Thanks to the collapse of Phoenixes defense, the US Military did not Berserk in Liaoning as was expected. As consequence, an immediate deployment to Iran was made by all available soldiers in the Military for the closing moments of two resistance wars in North Korea that were initially launched as damage distractions. Both regions were taken by the resistance, eliminating Iran completely from East Asia, and adding the count of regions lost by the country tonight to three.
