LG's Congressional Intent

Day 1,247, 13:50 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Lemuel Gengulfus

Hello folks.

There are a few reasons why I’ve decided to put my name forward as a Congressional candidate for London under the British Empire Party’s banner.

Firstly the BEP is a very friendly, simple and open party. It is this closeness and laid-back attitude that sets us apart from some of the larger parties which have an overly serious and closed clique of politicians at their head. My relaxed attitude to politics and length of eRep playing time make me one of our strongest potential candidates.

Secondly I’ve come to realise the party needs me to be more high profile. For the newer members of the reformed BEP (so most of you!) I was Party President when the BEP was at its peak. We had well over 200 members, were closing in on being the 3rd largest party behind the UKRP (who were undergoing an Ajay Bruno inspired civil war at the time) and were discussing a merger with the RFA to form a serious anti-TUP coalition.

So why me for Congress?

I have already served 4 congress terms and, whilst not being hugely active due to RL commitments, I am keen to plough back into the forums with renewed vigour.

I tend to ruffle a few feathers and I think the eUK politics needs some fresh faces.

Ideas I would like to explore:

Time to make the A-Team the E-Team!

Co-opting private military units under the eUK’s military authority – with the Admins pushing the social element of the military module, it seems sensible for the MoD to further develop links with private military forces and explore ways of making them more effective. Such as financial and/or equipment support; using them as agents of TERRA & eUK foreign policy and as a tool to boost in-game activity (units could be created to cater for players that log-in regularly at specific times of day, allowing us to coordinate bulk attacks better)

The Winkelvi know whats going to happen...

The admins also seem to be trying to increase in-game communication – the Facebook rip-off design & functionality being one such example – and i firmly believe this will render the external forum increasingly irrelevant. The eUK needs to start embracing this and find innovative ways of using new media modules to boost participation.

That’s all for now, but feel free to comment or PM me (and yes, I know I can't run directly, but I'm hoping a top 5 party will let me run under their banner for a change!)

Best,

LG
