When is Remembrance Day?
Remembrance Day falls on the 11th of November each year.
On the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, a minutes’ silence is observed and dedicated to those soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation.
In Australia and other allied countries, including New Zealand, Canada and the United States, 11 November became known as Armistice Day – a day to remember those who died in World War One. The day continues to be commemorated in Allied countries.
After World War Two, the Australian Government agreed to the United Kingdom’s proposal that Armistice Day be renamed Remembrance Day to commemorate those who were killed in both World Wars. Today the loss of Australian lives from all wars and conflicts is commemorated on Remembrance Day.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow ol😛
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them
lest we forget
Even though we were busy at the hospital today, we still tried our best to do the one minute silence. 🙂

One of my clearest memories as a young child is seeing the phrase "Lest we forget" in bronze lettering over the local showgrounds entry gate. I new so little of war but someone explained its purpose and it became a vivid memory.
My earliest memory of Remembrance Day was the yearly trips my Primary School made to the local RSL club where there was a memorial to Veterans and where we sat for hours listening to retired soldiers who made long winded speeches. I could never figure out what the 2 minutes silence were for because I'd zoned out long before they must have gotten to that part. It's easier for me to appreciate it all now.
