Legendás csata [Epic Battle]
A note: I wrote this article in the morning, when the battle for SGP was closed down when we were pulling down the wall. It is exactly the point I made in my previous article: the battle was closed down in order to Romania avoid a defeat. They could have done it honestly, I know that - but admins did not believe it, so they saved it for Romania in this way. I intended to publish it straight away, but erepublik was down and today I had no internet. So it is late and although it has a hopeful mood, I do not now feel that hopefulness. Admins took it away.

Makacsul, konokul mentünk, harcoltunk a fallal, a fagyásokkal, az eltűnő monetaryval, a captchával nehezített donate-tel, mindennel harcban álltunk ami létezett.
Fegyvereket küldünk egymásnak, gifteket, és aranyat számolatlanul, mindennel harcoltunk, mi a kezünk ügyébe esett, amíg lassan, egészen lassan a fal elkezdett lemorzsolódni. Észre se vettem a múló időt, a kezem rágörcsölt az egérgombra, írtam, küldtem, szerveztem, harcoltam vég nélkül…álmosak voltunk, fáradtak és kimerültek, de mégis harcoltunk, mert láttuk az esélyt haloványan felderengni. Hívtuk a barátokat, szövetségeseket és ők jöttek, amint tudtak. Egymás mellett harcoltunk, s együtt káromkodtunk, amikor az ablak ezredszerre is lefagyott, a fegyver elveszett, és olyan frusztráló volt, hogy néha majdnem fel is akartuk adni. De nem tettük meg, hanem egész éjjel folyamatosan ütöttük a falat – s az reggelre nagyrészt leomlott.
S ekkor jöttek ők megint. Ugyanúgy akadályozták őket is a bugok, nagyon is jól tudom, s letagadni sem akarom. De mégis mi álltunk jobban, mégis mi vezettünk, ahogy a fal centiről centire morzsolódott lefelé, s ahogy láttam az erőfeszítést itt is, ott is egy dolog, egy leírás jutott eszembe: legendás csata. Legendás csata ez, holott még vége sincsen, s noha a végeredménye igencsak fontos nekem, ez nem fog semmin változtatni – erre a csatára emlékezni fogunk. Mindkét oldal beleadott mindent, ami volt, aranyat, fegyvert, embert, erőfeszítést, amíg a szerverek – vagy az adminok – véget nem vetettek a heroikus küzdelemnek.
Üvöltöttünk mérgünkben, és a szavak, amiket kimondtunk, leírtunk nem idézhetőek e cikkben; de elhangzottak, mert annyira iszonyúan frusztráló volt a győzelem közelében ez, hogy az leírhatatlan. Ott voltunk néhány lépésnyire ettől a lehetetlen s mégis megvalósítható győzelemtől, és elvették tőlünk. Magyarázat és indoklás nélkül. Egyszerűen mondva elcsalták tőlünk ezt a győzelmet – még akkor is, ha nem volt megnyerve a csata, a fal egy része még állt. De mi mentünk és harcoltunk, és a fal egyre lejjebb rombolódott, és mostanra már elfoglalhattuk volna a régiót.
Mostanra megint miénk lehetett volna Southern Great Plain.
De így is… gazdagabbak lettünk egy legendás csatával.
Én örülök kis dolgoknak is az élettől.

When, during the evening we saw the state of erepublik website, and thought of the battle starting soon, we despaired. It was practically unusable. The page loading forever, pushing me out to login every five minutes, the trivia window kept freezing on me, loosing wellness, and damage, as well as weapons… and the wall was standing at 37 k, a seemingly insurmountable task against Romania’s might. But we went, for we had no other choice. We went doggedly, determined that here we stand and will not give an inch. We went all through the night, fighting with the wall, with the freezing window, with the disappearing monetary page, with the captcha on donations, with everything we fought.
We gave weapons to each other, we gave gifts and gold without care, we fought with everything we could, and slowly, slowly the wall started to crumble. I did not notice the time, my hands were clenching so I almost couldn’t use push the buttons, I wrote, I organized, I fought… we were tired, sleepy and exhausted but still we went for we saw the chance. We called for friends and friends came. We fought side by side and sweared together when window froze for the umpteenth time, when another weapon went wasted, when it was so frustrating that we almost, but never quite considered giving it up. But we didn’t do it. All through the night we hit the wall, and it came down by morning.
And then the enemy came back. They too were hampered by the same problems, I know that. But still we were winning, inch by bloody inch the wall came ever so lower, and as I saw their effort and I saw our efforts, one thing came to mind; it is an epic battle. It is a battle of epic proportions, and although the end-result is important to me, it changes not an iota that fact. Both sides gave literally everything, every man, every weapon, every gold, every effort to the battle – until the servers – or admins – decided to call it a day, and simply stopped working.
We screamed and told words that have no place in an article – but we told them none the less. It was just so frustrating to be at the point of almost winning, on the verge of an impossible victory – and have it taken away from us. With no reason, no explanation. We are, simply put cheated of this victory – even though it was not yet won, I know, some of the wall was still standing. But we pushed and it was crumbling, an so by now we could have secured it for good.
By now we could have had Southern Great Plain back.
But still… we have had an epic, memorable battle to us.
I am glad of small favors from life.

that wasn't an epic battle..not even close..it was the buggiest battle ever, and don't tell me you had the same problems..
i saw shaok hiting the wall 6 times consecutively in 2 minutes, i hit the wall twice in an hour.
the same for other hungarian users..
so really.. it's a little hypocrite to call a bugy war an epic battle.. when for god's sake the opistion was clearly the one with the handicap.

sebahmah, Ig the thing drops you out, and then you come back, and check the battle, you will see the last few hits, and if the site is buggy, then you will see the same hits again and again and again.
I've tried to hit the wall for about 4 hours, and I had 2 "successful" tries, one with 0/0 trivia thanks to the server, then I gave up. It was impossible to fight there that time.

4. the glitches yesterdaya ffected more romanians than hungarians for some "unknown" reasons, but because of this u had a chance to win, with the help of huge bugs and third party involvement (hackers).. and now you complain.. that's more than lame, that's pathetic.

Sebahmah, maybe your eyes are bugged too. Show me that 6 fights in two minutes. If you load the poge newly, than maybe, it displays the newest hits. I was on all night long, hitting that damn wall, I made one fight out of twenty tries - but I fought with the wall and with the servers too.
It's making me lol what you are saying that we didn't had the same bugs and problems. The only thing that we had and you didn't is faith and a very strong will.

The battle ended exactly 0:19 AM erep time. So the admins let it run to the next day. Please get better infos before taking part in discussions...10 more minutes and we would have been underground, but the 10 more minutes weren't given to us.

If anyone had advantage of the bugs that's you because you had the wall on +37K and fighting was almost impossible. But we was on all night long, didn't sleep. We fighted and if if took 100 tries to get a fight we tried it 100 times. That made the wall go down!

It was after the day-change.
The battle ended after the day-change - by some ten minutes or so. I remember trying to go to hospital, but couldn't. So the day-change wasn't the reason. It was ended because we were winning.

Twince during my time here I was at the end of my wits and told that take this country if you so much wish it but TAKE IT FAIRLY AND NOT WITH ADMINS HELP BECAUSE YOU CAN AND I KNOW IT, SO IT IS DEMEANING TO YOU TO HAVE THIS TAIL-WIND.

Any time romanians are under attack by a force able to beat them, the server goes down...
I had to try 40-50 times to get 1 fight and altough i answered all the questions correctly i got a 0/5 and max wellness loss...

Mensa (intelligence) has little to do with remembering facts and figures I think. I haven't got a good memory when it comes to dates for example, although I am intelligent. But some does. Like Shaok, for example.

It's not hard to know the 5-6 questions related to hungary in the trivia. The others need some practice, but ppl can get really pro in it with work/train in peacetime.
Dear Quikesilver may I say that the events that occur in that terrific day for eRepublik make all of us to be unable to fight properly.
Myself I try almost 1,5 hours to fight 2 times and I know a lot of Romanian who have this problem.
In a normal condition is hard to say the difference between our to army , but I must agree I was impress by Hungarian devotion that day because you pull down 15k bricks even if the game was running very slow. But let`s try for a second to be honest , you don`t know and I don`t know what could happen if the game wasn`t having problem that day ..maybe you was having 3 province now or maybe just 2 ..is impossible to say or comment about it
im one of the who fought... I think that's the worst battle i ever involved... hours and hours with more energy and no joy. I even logout from peace channel since cant handle the pressure.

It was only the circumstances that made us winning - circumstances and determination to fight even is such conditions. Because we saw this chance, because we knew that this made it possible to win. And that is why I am so angry and frustrated about the whole damned thing. I still don't accuse any Romanian players of anything - referring your comment in my other article - but it is fairly obvious that admins' intervention then was their help to you. Whether you wanted it or not.

hungarian got advantage since they have high chance answering 3SS at least in every fight, since 3 question usually about original nation, so hungary are at advantages without decoder, but suddenly the battle dissapear, it's clear that closing the battle are at hungarian disadvantages since some Atlantis nation already created decoder for flash while the battle stopped.
cotavean, the admins (re)started that battle when they did; did not even asked us if we wanted it or not. I too think they are, as you call them, but don't say it because I fear of getting banned for a criticism.

In this battle we didnt cared if we get muddy, but some of yyou gave up becouse of that, and as quicksilver said, we played all night long on a muddy battlefield where you barely can walk. We moved on cm to cm.

Crohal I would just like to mention that we had a game-meeting the day before yesterday, and we were talking that it would be a good idea to have one together with Romanians too. Apart from it, we can have strong feelings in the game - although there are some extreme opinions too, I admit.

I always liked your articles and considered them impartial. This time though, you let your feelings blind you. You have every right to be upset and blame the developers for the lousy job they are doing, but not for helping one side or another. This game is a bussiness and there's no way George would let that happen. Admins taking sides would make people leave the game, and eventually ruin him...
Romanians are upset as well, as we wouldn't be in this situation if the site was running properly!!!

Yes, the site was unusable all night long. But only closed down when we pulled down the wall and you were loosing. That is a fact.
It closed when admins woke up and have seen the zillion messages... I know how it was all night, and I've seen you stuggle, as I did the same. I only slept for 2 hours and went to work at 5 am, and instead of working, I kept trying to login and fight (annoying all my coleagues)... You absolutely deserve recognition for the perseverence you showed that night, maybe it will be repaid tomorrow.
I consider myself leaving, this game is too much of a joke... But please, don't fuel the Adminia oppinion, I promise you it is not like this at all...
