Launch of Rising - the Tale (aka GOTNW Pt 4/5)

Day 996, 22:31 Published in Greece Greece by Dodona

Even though they normally let us go on with our lives as we wish (or as we are/get used to), there are times when they do things that change all of our lives significantly. This happens very rarely and for the people who are around at such times it is both a blessing and a curse. Blessing b/c they live during legendary times and curse b/c they serve as guinea pigs. Such was the time of the introduction of v2.

Before the beginning of Rising era, gods sent their messenger, Insider, to warn people that the New World will be changing and to prepare them. He was gradually giving them more and more details. When the time came, gods hypnotized all humans so deeply that they fell in a comma. When they woke up they were shocked. The New World had become too complex for them. They fell asleep for one night and it was like they woke up 50 years later! It's one thing hearing something and another seeing it in front of your very eyes.

Survival at the beginning was hard. They could barely keep their societies and economies alive. And they also had to cope with disgusting insects and reptiles and creepy headless birds all around them. I mean those creatures were everywhere! Some people could not take it and went on to commit suicide. Business owners who went bankrupt overnight, jumped from their (10th+ floor) office windows. Those who were left behind made sacrifices to the gods or simply prayed, stoically awaiting their fate.

Things got even worse when Alexis sai😛 "from now on, in the battlefield, you shall be fighting each other until one drops unconscious or dead!". Give us a break dude, said the people. Funny thing was, with all the complexity of the new New World, the good ol' hospitals were gone! And there where no nurses around. So Geonaru, realizing that even fewer people will survive, asked Lana to heal soldiers' major injuries during night time for a while.

The days were passing and people were still desperate and cursing at the gods. They were hearing the complaints, of course, and arranged a meeting to discuss what to do to ease people's pain. Siluvaca said "leave it to me". And he appeared in front of people, holding a piece of bread and sai😛 "I bless this bread and all breads and from now on they will be twice as good". He proceeded to do the same with the houses.

It was like prescribing aspirin to someone suffering from pneumonia...
