Last month, John Largo ran against a strong incumbent. Molly Emma is a good person and a good president. Nevertheless, JL put together a strong campaign and lost by only 17 votes.

Last month JL refused to "go negative," even when posts in the media, IRC, and chat windows on election day were throwing spurious and incorrect criticisms at him. Like JL, I will not say anything bad about his opponent, who is a fine president. But JL showed his maturity, wisdom, and presidential leadership skills by staying above the negativism.

I have known JL for years. He is smart, capable, proactive, listens to good advice and politely declines bad, and is all about helping the country not himself. He has never gone for the underhanded drama or over-the-top confrontation. He does what is right. He is a leader, through and through.

I served with JL in congress. He was speaker twice when I was a congresscritter. JL is who we listened to because he made sense. Always. When he weighed in on an issue, he cut through the bull and we knew who to listen to.

Again, I want to emphasize that I am not writing this to denigrate President Molly Emma. She is a good person and a very capable president. The country has done fine with her leadership, and she has my 100% support this month. Neither am I criticizing citizens who voted for Molly Emma. She was a known incumbent who had no serious problems in her presidency and nothing was wrong with voting for her again. Stability is comforting.

JL has not told me whether he will run again in July. But I hope he does. He has ideas, fresh ideas. He has the energy born of coming close. He has the intelligence, knowledge, and leadership to respond to surprises in this crazy world we "live" in. John Largo wouldn't just be a good or competent president; he has the makings of a great president.

I have played this game for a long time.
I have very seldom written articles to support presidential candidates.
But I know who I want to vote for in July' 14.
