AGRADECIMIENTOS

Quiero primero que todo dar las gracias a mi grupo de camaradas en la trinchera de la UM en el IRC, sin los cuales no podría haberme mantenido tan adicto a este juego durante todos estos meses.



REALIDAD VIRTUAL

Es increíble ver como muchos de los que usan el mundo virtual toman todo lo que sucede ahí y lo llevan al plano RL (real life). Es aquí donde entra el troleo en su máxima expresión, ya no solo es usado para crear un sentido de competición sino que muy por el contrario, quieren llevarlo al lado de la denostación y el de crear criterios de superioridad.

Muchos toman ciertas acciones del modulo de combate como si pudieran ser de la vida real, increpando e incluso haciendo amenazas de que si existiera una guerra, serian los primeros en salir a defender a sus países por el hecho de que “con gusto” matarían a sus adversarios.

No sé si cada uno de estos personajes miden sus palabras y de que LA GUERRA es una catástrofe no solo a nivel social, si no que a nivel psicológico. Todas y cada una de las guerras deja secuelas marcadas por generaciones en ambos bandos (vencedor y vencido).

Ahora entramos al mes de diciembre y con ello el recuerdo de un nacimiento en el mundo cristiano y es en esta ocasión que quisiera compartir con ustedes una historia tan increíble como sus protagonistas.





La tregua de navidad fue una serie de ceses al fuego no oficiales que tuvieron lugar en el frente oeste y comenzaron en los campos de Flanders (Bélgica) alrededor de la navidad de 1914 durante la primera guerra mundial. Durante este tiempo, grupos de soldados alemanes y británicos comenzaron a intercambiar saludos de la temporada y canciones entre las trincheras; en ocasiones, la tensión fue reducida hasta el punto de que los individuos podían cruzar caminando para hablar con sus contrapartes llevando regalos. En la víspera de navidad y en navidad, muchos soldados de ambos lados, así como las unidades francesas pero en un nivel menor, se aventuraban independientemente en tierra de nadie (el espacio entre las trincheras), donde se reunían e intercambiaban comidas y regalos. También realizaban ceremonias de entierros en conjunto, muchas de las reuniones terminaban con cantos de villancicos. Las tropas de ambos lados habían sido tan amistosas entre ellas como para jugar partidos de futbol entre todos. La tregua ha sido un momento simbólico para la paz y la humanidad incluso en los momentos más violentos de la historia moderna.



Los alemanes comenzaron colocando velas en sus trincheras y en árboles de navidad, luego continuaron la celebración cantando villancicos. Los británicos respondieron cantando sus propios villancicos. Ambos lados continuaron gritándose buenos deseos de navidad entre ellos, luego, tuvieron incursiones a través de la tierra de nadie, donde pequeños regalos eran intercambiados como comida, tabaco y alcohol además de recuerdos como botones y gorras. La artillería en la región fue silenciada durante esa noche. La tregua también permitió un respiro para poder recuperar los cuerpos de soldados caídos recientemente detrás de líneas enemigas por partidas de entierro donde se procedía a llevar a cabo servicios fúnebres en conjunto. La fraternización entre las tropas no se producía sin sus riesgos; algunos soldados eran abatidos por fuerzas opositoras en muchos sectores. La tregua duro durante toda la noche de navidad, pero en otros lugares incluso duro hasta el año nuevo.

Pie de nota: Adolf Hitler, en ese entonces un joven cabo de la 16ta infantería de reserva de bavaria, fue un notable oponente a la tregua.

First of all, I want to give thanks to all my group of comrades in the trenches of the MU in the IRC, without them I believe I couldn’t have maintain myself so addictive to this game through all these months.



VIRTUAL REALITY

Is amazing to see so many people that use the virtual world taking everything that happened there and placing it in the RL. Here is where the troll mode gets to its maximal expression, now is used not only to create a sense of competition but on the contrary, they want to take it to the denotation and to create superiority criteria.

Many take certain actions from the combat module as it comes from the RL, insulting and inclusive threatening with the scenario of a possible war, they will be the first to go and defend their countries and that would be “a pleasure” to kill their adversaries.
I don’t know if any of these characters measure their words and that WAR is a catastrophe not only to social level but to a psychological label as well. All and every one of the wars fought, has left scars for generations in booth sides (winner and loser).

Now we get in to December and with it we remember in the Christian world a birth that brings us a story that I would like to share with you that is so amazing like the people that make it possible.



THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914



The Christmas truce was a series of widespread unofficial ceasefires that took place along the Western Front and began at Flander's Field around Christmas of 1914, during the First World War. During this time, parties of German and British soldiers began to exchange seasonal greetings and songs between their trenches; on occasion, the tension was reduced to the point that individuals would walk across to talk to their opposite numbers bearing gifts. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, many soldiers from both sides -- as well as, to a lesser degree, from French units -- independently ventured into "No man's land" (the space between opposing forces trenches), where they mingled, exchanging food and souvenirs. As well as joint burial ceremonies, several meetings ended in carol-singing. Troops from both sides had also been so friendly as to play games of football (Soccer) with one another. The truce is seen as a symbolic moment of peace and humanity amidst one of the most violent events of modern history



The Germans began by placing candles on their trenches and on Christmas trees, then continued the celebration by singing Christmas carols. The British responded by singing carols of their own. The two sides continued by shouting Christmas greetings to each other. Soon thereafter, there were excursions across No Man's Land, where small gifts were exchanged, such as food, tobacco and alcohol, and souvenirs such as buttons and hats. The artillery in the region fell silent that night. The truce also allowed a breathing spell where recently fallen soldiers could be brought back behind their lines by burial parties. Joint services were held. The fraternisation was not, however, without its risks; some soldiers were shot by opposing forces. In many sectors, the truce lasted through Christmas night, but it continued until New Year's Day in others.



Footnote: Adolf Hitler, then a young corporal of the 16th Bavarian Reserve Infantry, was a notable opponent of the truce.
