Koolmanjack for Congress in BC

Day 609, 13:22 Published in Canada Canada by koolmanjack

The last week or so has been a tough one for eCanada. We have lost several regions and the future of our great country is uncertain. In such trying times the country needs people in power that they can trust will always put their country first and have the experience and good judgment to help Canada in these difficult days and weeks ahead. That is why i am asking my re-election bid for congress for a third term in office.

The one issue that i think that as a senior member of the DAL, now the largest and most active party, i understand better than most politicians and military leaders is not only the importance of an active citizenship but how to achieve this. For too long our country has been passive about engaging the Canadian population known as the “two clickers”, instead depending on a few dedicated individuals that took the personal initiative and time to figure out and get involved in this game. But by not utilizing our potential to be a world player with the reasonably large population we have allowed for apathy to be prevalent in the two clickers, which has lead to a high inactivity rate. This war has shown what the costs of this is, a military that is too dependent on a few tanks, has a terrible supply system, poor communication system, and was inadequately prepared for this evitable day of reckoning. This perhaps could have been covered up if we had a much more engaged citizenship that understood the mechanics of the game far more and sense of purpose in their country was better defined. Our inability to fully utilize our citizens compared to PEACE nations is partly why we have lost most of the important battles in this war. If you wonder why eHungary and eIndonesia are so powerful, it is because there citizens are more active and therefore, more stay and contribute, leading to more tanks and stronger economies, which means more gold to fight wars.

In order to counteract this, we must do a better job of making the population active citizens. A couple of the ideas I have are to re-establish the university in order to better educate the citizens of this country. This is a longer term solution as it will take quite a while to set up enrolment, get qualified professors, and what should be taught. More immediate solutions would be to have government funding of private charities and to set up a public charity as well, the success of the DAL charity in keeping new players active is proof this approach can work for the general public. Establishing a mentoring program in which people pm new players asking them if they have questions and telling them the basics of this game is the most effective way to reduce inactivity rates, since currently searching the forums for info is not desired by many, plus the social interaction makes new players feel welcome in eCanada as equals able to contribute.

My final solution is military reform. The basic plan is to automatically enrol all ecanadians in the military once they reach level 5. They will be send basic fighting info and asked if they would like to enter the training program. All people that passed the training program (which would require actual fight missions) and roll calls would be eligible for the regular forces. The regular forces would be more than doubled, and the reserves would be called up periodically to fight overseas to gain experience and strength. As well, training wars would be used to train reserves on fighting as a team, when to strike, to perfect the supply system in terms of asking for supply, the importance of wellness. Moving up in rank in the reserves would be used to determine supplies received when called up by the CAF and would be used to judge which reservists would be eligible to join the regulars. By making the reserves basically mandatory and giving it a function outside of an invasion, it will make our country better prepared and a stronger army in the next war. As well, organizing platoons by region and creating more levels of command to increase communication effectiveness and supply effectiveness, such that orders and supplies can move down a chain of people ideally to take the pressure off of a couple of people to do everything, which is the current system. As a side note, the reserves would receive almost no funding except when needed by the CAF, or marginal funding at best most of the time.

On other issues, I would like to see more ambassadors set up and those that are inactive to be replaced quicker, perhaps if it requires paying them a salary. I would support higher taxes if needed to pay for the war effort and to help bring in some of the above changes. I would like to see the role of CSIS increased in the future so that domestic security can be increased and to increase its ability to work internationally. We should continue to work on developing our alliances and after the war look to engage our regions such as Asia and South America more. Don’t we all wish for the days when everyone was complaining how mean Romania was being pushing around Hungary. As well, there is lots of work to be done with organizing and updating our legal system, which makes the Supreme Court and establishing experts on the law, known as “lawyers” a consideration for the future.

So that is s why I should be elected to Congress. If you don’t like it, you can leave me alone!
