Kiemar/Sean Greene Presidential Manifesto

Day 527, 15:30 Published in Ireland Ireland by Kiemar

I'm happy to announce my acceptance of the Irish Socialist Republican Party's nomination for Taoiseach of the Republic of Ireland. I'm also happy to announce that fellow ISRP Congressman Sean Greene will be joining me on my campaign as candidate for Tánaiste. I believe we as a team are experienced, active, and have a clear vision for a prosperous and involved Ireland.

I have been a six term Congressman of the Shannon as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs the last two terms. I have also been involved in the Healthcare system in my youth as well as serving as Economic Spokesperson for the ISRP. Top Gun's term was very successful, and you'll notice most of the changes I propose are already in the minds of all Irish citizens. Our nation is on the right track, we simply need to take the first steps.

Government:

I believe one man cannot govern a nation by himself. I also believe those he chooses to help him govern must be chosen on merit instead of party affiliation. We as a nation have experienced a great influx of "baby boomers" who have fantastic and innovative ideas to bring to the table. Oftentimes us older players are quick to dismiss these ideas without giving them enough thought. If I am elected my Cabinet will consist of people who have proven they are active and driven. Ministers will not be chosen by the length of time they have been with us, but by their activeness and innovativeness.

Ideas must be shared, and to do this I will schedule weekly Cabinet meetings. I cannot claim this idea as my own, as this was something I was excited to see last term. It never came to be however, and I feel IRC meetings with all Ministers is vital to running a government. Weekly informational articles will continue as they have been, as I feel these are critical to informing players who are not on our forums as to what our government is accomplishing.

Economy:

I have long advocated for wage restructure in state companies to reduce government spending and alleviate pressure off private companies. Wages will be lowered to a point which ensures low skill workers can afford a proper quality food but which also gives private companies a chance to compete for workers. This balance can and will be achieved. State companies will begin exporting their products once a stockpile has been achieved in order to recoup some of the government losses.

I also plan on releasing budgets throughout the term either in the press or on the forums to ensure all citizens are fully aware of where their money is being spent.

Healthcare:

The Fast Wellness Program was a great step forward which I feel will revolutionize healthcare in our nation. It's cheaper and more efficient than gift bombing and I think it should stay around for a while to come.

Foreign Affairs:

As Minister of Foreign Affairs I made it a priority to make sure the rest of the world knew Ireland was willing to fight to protect the sovereignty of nations. At the same time it is imperative that we maintain out neutral status. There were many wars over the last two terms, but very few were between an oppressed nation and an oppressor nation. Most were Atlantis/PEACE squabbles that we had no business intervening in. South Africa was the first example I saw of a neutral nation which required our aid and I immediately petitioned our government to send help. I believe we should continue to aid foreign countries in their struggle for autonomy, but we must also maintain our neutrality.

If I am elected I have no plans of entering Ireland into any sort of group military alliance or MPP web. Forming relations on an individual basis is how we must conduct foreign policy, and I will continue to garner as friendly relations as possible with our fellow European nations and North American neighbors. We have more to lose by entering into a group alliance than we have to gain.

Military:

Until our military infrastructure is sorted out we are effectively unarmed, and it will be a top priority of mine to get the IDF and ARW up and running again. Plans need to be drawn up for war games as well as foreign intervention. When looking for someone to lead our military I will ask regiment CO's for their input and nominations. No one knows better who should lead the military than those who actively serve. We need someone dedicated and active to be ready at all times to organize our troops for anything.

I ask if anyone has specific questions to PM me or post them here, and I will answer them all in a later article.

It is impossible for me to criticize Top Gun's presidency because I think he has done a fabulous job. I wish I could write this demanding revolutionary change, but for the first time in my seven months in Ireland I think all of us know which direction we need to go in. Me and Sean are dedicated to this country and we are ready to lead it into the future. I ask for you to vote Kiemar/Greene and the ISRP on election day to secure a more prosperous, active, and involved Irish nation!
