Alright so , the amount of interest my articles have drawn past 2 weeks since I came back has still not ceased to amaze me, now as you are all aware there is an election in 2 days' time, an election for the head of state of this country, I am hoping to make my political appearance in this election and I know that whether I win or lose that I will be taken seriously.
So,you're all probably wondering ''am I serious?'' , you all might laugh to yourselves, but the truth is , yes I am serious. I got 3 main political aims which I will explain in detail towards the end of this article.

so why should we vote for you?
I know that I'm not as good as the other candidates XP wise, they are both in two large PPs with decent support bases , but what I do have is determination and 3 main political goals which are lowering taxes, reuniting the country and increasing the number of active citizens actually living in the country.
1. Lowering taxes
In government currently , there have been two proposals for income tax reductions, 1 has lost and the other is losing, if I were elected I would try reduce the income tax by at least four percent, another tax I would try to lower would be VAT , here is a list of VAT on food,weapons and moving tickets, reducing the cost our citizens have to pay.
2. Reuniting the country
I am a real life nationalist from Ireland, so the reunification would be a goal that is close to my own heart, I would attempt diplomacy to obtain this and even military force if necessary (although this would be a last resort), hopefully, then a reunited Ireland could become an important country in Europe, I would also make sure to negotiate several MPPs to ensure there will be no threats to a reunited Ireland (There is more information on this topic in my Common Sense series, please refer to them for more details)
3.increasing the number of active citizens actually living in the country
I had a look at the actual number of Irish citizens and saw this , I was really quite shocked when I saw that, and am determined to raise the number of Irish citizens active within Ireland, I would attempt to raise the number by at least 100 and maybe with a larger population, our armies will grow in size to and we will become an even more formidable foe for any country to go up against.
So please , please ,please read and spread this around, give this a read and a vote and spread the word.
All I ask is that this country gives me a chance because when I say I'll do something I will actually attempt to do it.

What's the rationale behind lowering taxes?

Aside from that obvious fact though, can you explain what your expectations are in terms of government revenue and how your changes to tax would play into a model of government finance?
Is your view that the government is collecting too much tax, or is it that the current tax levels are having a negative impact on private business that outweighs the necessity and weight of the government operations that they pay for?
Alright so Ian, yes I understand that there is two sides to every argument. I am proposing that the taxes be lowered , but not by much, 5% max, this is to allow Irish businesses to make a little more money, and for our citizens to pay less ,this would benefit the citizens at the governments expense, similarly if the income tax was raised from 50% and if VAT went up, it would be benefiting the government at the expense of our people.
So my view is,yes the government is collecting slightly more tax then it should be, I'm not saying that the money is being wasted, or anything like that, but I do feel a SLIGHT reduction is necessary, after all , a government is only as good as the people it's elected to represent, and if they are happy with their government well then that is a job well done.

You say you would lower both income tax and VAT. Apart from the fact it has to go through Congress, wouldn't you need government income figures before making these claims, as, otherwise, how can you say that this won't affect national income adversely.

alright first off let me apologize for the mistake, I am aware of the fact that it must run through Congress and have edited it accordingly, and yes, I might need those figures, you're right, but if I see an opportunity to propose the lowering of taxes I will do so and if this is not possible I will tell the public that, I hope to be,if elected , an honest President.
I am hoping that, if I can propose the taxes to be lowered, that with food and weapons becoming cheaper, we may be able to tempt some citizens to return home, I am aware they could purchase it wherever they are currently but that doesn't rule out that they won't return home.
