K-Drama = eSK + Romania + Macedonia + Starcraft
Athasnim
Today's article draws its theme from Korean Dramas, or K-Drama for short
This wasn't my originally intended article, but I'm going with the flow here.
Good news: the country's economy, media and population back on the rise, with v2 fast becoming a distant memory.
Not so Good news: With growth comes growing pains. Today, Romania. Yesterday, Macedonia. Tomorrow, eKimchi shortage.
Don't get me wrong. I happen to think these discussions and rhetorics are in large, a healthy thing. (Cept the kimchi(김치) shortage, that's serious business.) It's about damn time we had a political discussion going. Especially for those like me who 2-clicked thru the Macedonian era of eSK and are fairly clueless of all the tension amongst Romania/Macedonian/eSK relations.
My 2 cents drawn from an old K-Drama I finally caught up on.

A)
Quoted from Last Scandal of My Life (마지막 스캔들) :
영어 번역(translated as):
“But there were good times, too. You might not understand, but that’s what marriage is. You take a short, happy memory and live with it for a long time, and whenever you feel hate, get upset, or want to cry, you take those memories out and put up with it, you idiot.”
b)
Above Quoted from Seducing Mr. Perfect (미스터 로빈 꼬시기):
C)
Above Quoted from Sorry I love you (미안하다 사랑한다):
(No lie, these translations are actual quotes from said movies/tv series.)

How do you define your relationship to eSouth Korea? Personally, I relate to A the most... but not completely. If I had to be honest, there has to be a working medium between A B & C. eSK must have the right mix of Ideal world and a geopolitical one; too much of the former leads to PTO too much of latter and the country loses its s(e)oul.

Finally I want to paraphrase President Grease's quote on Deng Xiaoping
“black cat, white cat, I don’t care what color it is as long as it's a Lolcat.”
This can be interpreted in 3 ways. Either
1) Romanian influence will be no better then the Macedonian influence.
2) Romanian influence will be no worse then the Macedonian influence.
3) we need more cat proof Kimchi jars.
However this alliance turns out to be, let's be vigilant but let's be civil. We've overcome past obstacles and we'll keep doing so. (Cept the kimchi shortage is really worrying me...)

PS - R.I.P. Choi Jin sil 누나 (Last Scandal). You'll always be my favorite '아줌마'.
"She was more than South Korea's Julia Roberts or Angelina Jolie. For nearly 20 years, Choi Jin Sil was the country's cinematic sweetheart and as close to being a "national" actress as possible. But since her body was found on Oct. 2, an apparent suicide, she has become a symbol of the difficulties women face in this deeply conservative yet technologically savvy society. Incessant online gossip appears to have been largely to blame for her death. But it's also clear that public life as a single, working, divorced mom — still a pariah status in South Korea — was one role she had a lot of trouble with," - TIME back in October 2008.

Kimchi sounds nice : D
I... subscriber 100... agree with this article.. Let it be Lolcat : )
I love sorry i love you 🙂
Maybe it's because the eSK stage is smaller, thus cosier, but the audience witnessing the interaction between Yonai/Grease/Jafe should keep things in perspective. In bigger countries, stuff like this goes on a daily basis and are usually much more uglier.
I wrote the article tongue-in-cheek to keep everyone, especially the audience witnessing Y/G/J, in perspective. There's nothing wrong with disagreement, but it's how you disagree that shows whether you're a veteran(고수) or an amateur(초보) player.
I say this, because I'm starting to see personal comments being strewn about in defense of either Y/G/J. Let's not go there people.
Thank You again Athasnim, Your article and your last comment are spot on. It would be sad seeing good citizens turn into uncivilized, irrational debaters. Debate is healthy, and I encourage people to question what is happening, but it shouldn't polarize the community.
Loving the actual translations, I knew Koreans liked starcraft but I don't know any soaps/movies that mention World or warcraft, red alert or any other game!
Would you count South Park's spoof on WoW? xD
From Wikipedia:
"StarCraft: Brood War is the most successful e-Sport in the world, and it has been referred to as the national pastime in South Korea, where there are two television channels dedicated to broadcasting professional StarCraft matches."
I think if you're really pro at Starcraft in South Korea, you're basically an idol.
How are we the bad guys.
We werent alowed any goverment positions we didnt had any power while we were in South Korea.Niether did we force the Koreans into Phoenix.
I dont know how you people cant understand what is going on in this countrie.
First does no one find the 80 votes every election for sin-gan association unusual?
I dont accuse anyone of cheating but its rather suspicios.
When we were in Korea Grease teamed up with the internationals and romanians against us.
Now that we have left he is teaming up with the rommanians against the internationals.
He doesnt care about Korea
Tell me what has he done for the economy. If Krale Marko had won the elections with the grain Macedonia badly needs we would have opened at least 10-15 companys by now.
What has he done for the society all he do is argue with everyone.
I know he is Korean and all but all he cares about is the chair and nothing else.He wants to be in charge of everything, this propably has something to do with some RL issues but that is the case
@Demigod - Like I said, I was hibernating(2 click) when Macedonia was here in eSK in large quantity so I have no opinion of you guys or the Romanians, good or bad.
I will judge the present situation without any past events biasing my eyes one way or the other.
