June/July Congressional Platform

Day 577, 14:39 Published in USA USA by Citizen Timinator

So here's a little shout-out to the home of the automobile and the Yoopers: Michigan. Home of the Wolverines, the best Big 10 team ever, as well as the Spartans the best basketball program ever.

Without any more ado, here's my proposed platform as a congressional candidate for this great state:
1. Pass a two-prong economic bill that lowers the starting citizen fee by a few dollars, and raising the minimum wage by about 10 or 20 cents.

Reason: Far too many citizens start the game and quit after a day or two because they didn't realize starting out takes so long before you can do anything significant in The New World. That $5 multiplied out by the likely hundreds and thousands that fall in this category results in a significant amount of money being lost by the government coffers. Clearly though we would have to raise the minimum wage just a little to cover the gap caused by the loss of initial startup money. I haven't run the statistics on this yet, but I'm confident that after I do I will be able to get my fellow senators to agree with my plan.

2. Promote the use of the wargames and enrollment into the Home Guard Training Program.

Reason: As a graduate of the program and a current HomeGuardsman I firmly believe that this a great way for citizens to participate in standing ready to protect our country from the threat of PEACE GC. While everyone is free to choose whether they will fight or not, I feel that being prepared to just defend our country is something that even conscientious objectors can do without violating their consciences.

3. Work to assemble a new post-ATLANTIS alliance that comprises a three-prong alliance: economic, militaristic, and diplomatic.

Reason: The fall of ATLANTIS taught us a lot of things, the biggest being that simply having a military alliance isn't enough for the long-term survival of a multi-national bloc. The economic portion of the alliance would entail low tariffs (1 - 5😵 across the board, no protectionism, and other free trade elements. Military protection is a no-brainer for an alliance. The trick though, is that we need to put clear language in the alliance charter that puts a significant punishment on countries that break from the alliance in order to attack member nations (i.e. Sweden). It probably wouldn't hurt to put a clause in that prohibits countries that wish to leave the alliance from attacking member nations directly or by proxy through another nation they're allied with, for a certain number of days like 30 or 45. Diplomatically, we need to make sure we're protecting the political interests of allied nations against PTO's, slow or hostile.

So that's my 3 point plank, and I hope I can get as many votes from you great Michiganders as I can. Always remember, as a Libertarian I'm for liberty and freedom. So if you enjoy your liberty and being the bastion of freedom to rest of the world, cast a vote for me: Citizen Timinator.
