JLP Elections over - Gustavius wins

Day 454, 13:10 Published in Japan Japan by JLP Official

In a close race, former and current party president Gustavius managed to emerge victorious against his opponent, Ice_Freeze. The Japanese Labour Party congratulates Gustavius to his victory and hopes that he will continue to successfully lead the party. Earlier reports suggested that Gustavius would leave today after handing power over to Vice Party President Kokawayoshi Makoto, however it has been confirmed that Gustavius will stay for an undefined time, probably a few days, to oversee the correct transition of power within the Japanese Labour Party and help it to coordinate its future efforts.

With recent membership losses as well as the death of inactives, the party further intends to start a revialization and recruitment campaign to get fresh blood into the party with its message of democracy, participation and equal opportunities. As Japan's oldest and most consistently left-wing party (taking unfortunate political takeovers aside), the Japanese Labour Parties stands for a moderate, down-to-earth social and liberal approach to politics within Japan. Campaigning on a platform of participation, prosperity and democracy, it is a sensible choice for all citizens who want to have their ideas heard and considered in a party that is listening to every voice. While the party is relativly small, it also has an active culture of discussing issues on the party forum, located at the official eJapan forums (http://www.aoi-fan.uni.cc).
