Jerz in Exile

Day 1,238, 21:30 Published in USA USA by jerseygirldani

I am in mourning.

My great state has been taken over by our neighbors up north. They told me I’d have to wear red and start attending hockey games. And eating pancakes with maple syrup (actually, they told me I'd have to eat everything with maple syrup). Some of them even tried to convince me that I’d have to start speaking French. FRENCH.

NE VEUX PAS.

(I don’t even know if that’s correct grammar. But who cares. I’m not going to learn to speak French! Using google translate to write that sentence is the most you’re going to get from me.)

Anyways.

My darling hubby CRoy told me that I was going to have to leave if I wasn’t going to do the red-wearing-hockey-loving-maple-syrup-eating thing. “Come with me to Nebraska,” he said. “We’ll buy a farm.”

…........

NEBRASKA?!??!

I pondered which was worse, Canadaland or Nebraska, and eventually agreed to move to the farm on the condition that I was able to get a puppy.

Isn’t HE cuuute???

So I packed my bags, and off we went to Nebraska.

The good life? Really? What have I gotten myself into?!?!

We pulled up to a sweet little farmhouse, complete with a doghouse in the backyard (though no puppy of mine will be sleeping outside!) I guess this isn’t as bad as I thought it would be....

So here I am, writing this from my very own farm in the middle of nowhere, Nebraska. CRoy is out back working in the fields, tending to the veggies so that we have food for me to feed the newbs. Cerb is eating the veggies when I’m not looking! But I long for the day when my favorite state is returned to the eUS and I may become the princess of jersey once again....
