Weapons Upgrade
The Ministry of Defense has proposed an upgrade for the Nippon Weapons Q3 company to Q5, an upgrade that will cost 300 gold and represents a major investment of the national treasury. Please see the related proposal and debate thread in our National Forums here:

New Adjutant
The Ministry of Defense has promoted Koppanyi Ferenc, a long-time member of the Japanese Imperial Army, to the rank of Adjutant General, and will assist KITA Ikki in the administration of the JIA henceforth. The Ministry of Defense would like to congratulate the following JIA members for their battle achievements and has promoted them to the respective ranks:

JIA Personnel
When the recent budget influx from the JIS organization, the JIA now has the funding to expand. Those who have already applied should receive notice in the next 72 hours and start receiving weapons distribution. Those wishing to apply should do so as soon as possible to be considered for these competitive positions. Please look at the minimum requirements below and submit an application to the Japanese Imperial Army that includes:
1) your current strength
2) rank and damage points
3) how many Q1 weapons you can provide daily on your own
4) if you would be willing to work in a company that produces weapons for the use of the JIA soldiers.
5) your future plans--if you are staying in Japan long-term, plan to run for congress, start a business
Requirements
Regular JIA unit
-lieutenant rank and above
-strength minimum 6.2
-positions will be given to the best candidates
Training unit
Citizens over one month old, but less than 45 days:
-at least 4.5 strength
-hard worker medal on your 30th day
Citizens over 45 days ol

-sergeant rank
-5.5 strength
Duties
-sign-in and actively post training results in the nipponblog.net national forums
-use weapons for training everyday
-be available for training exercises
-follow instructions from chain-of-command
-notify chain-of-command in the case of absences or quitting
Also, priority consideration for JIA enrollment will be given to those individuals who volunteer their labor at the eJapanese-operated, foreign-based companies:
Dragonforce Imperial Steel operated by Dragonforce Imperial
Mugen Metal Works operated by Mugen Corp
Black Dragon Mining operated by Black Dragon Society
Individuals wishing to participate in the program should contact the JIA org in a private message to verify employment details.
Prospective applicants are also encouraged to apply to the Japanese Imperial Navy, operated by the excellent and active JIN Commanding Officer, Chaotic1.

That's my command ship. I'm so hardcore I ditched the planes in order to play golf with my fellow soldiers. Helipad in case I have to run away asap.

To apply for the navy. My requirements are a bit more stringent (8+ str) and the roster is smaller. Between the two there is room for everyone who has put, and will put time in to stay active.
