Just taking the recent trend of posting C.V.'s to start a Presidential campaign to its logical extreme.
Yes, I am running for President on August 5th, with all the multimedia fun that it entails. In the coming two weeks I'll be writing a series of articles, posting a few ads, and glad handing my way around the endorsing parties. The campaign I will run will focus on three major thrusts: Administrative Reform, Economic Reform, and Social Reform.

The one question I will answer in public is Why run for President now?;
Even as an American citizen, I found myself being asked by over a dozen prominent Canadians to consider running for the Presidency of Canada. I think most of us can agree that we've seen a drift in Canada lately, a sort of stagnation that we really can't afford to have in government at any time, much less the start of V2. As a simple citizen, or even as an advisor, there's only so much that you can do and I have all too often thought about what I would do if I was President again. For the last six months I have passed on opportunity after opportunity to run primarily to give other players the experience to run our executive government. This approach seems to have met with decidedly mixed results. And while new blood is important, and the cabinet I will be putting into play will see some old hands and then some new players just beginning their ascent into political office,sometimes stability, experience, proven integrity and decisive leadership trump unproven and untested change for change's sake.
At day change August 6th, I want to help right the ship and get Canada firmly on the path of economic prosperity, international involvement, and honest government.

Jacobi, did you really promise to support a Francophone Office that had more autonomy than the CSIS?
If you promise to do something, I'll vote for you.

The reason is that CSIS holds no real official or constitutional position within Canada. Its practically has the same relationship with the government as the Forum Admin Team does, which is to say no accountability but the relationship could be terminated at any time.

The FO, as far as I know, is chartered off an act of Congress which like anything else can be modified by a 50%+1 vote.
Now that's weird because at the time of the FOs inception, it was claimed to be CP (you) created because only a CP can create a department with special status like the CSIS.

Welcome back to eCanadian politics! I guess this also means you won't be endorsing Moffington's CP candidacy. Plenty of new and more interesting issues to tackle here in eCanada now that V2 is on and there's a monopoly to manage.

The CSIS is accountable to the President and to the Congress via an unused committee that proved to be useless after 2 terms and via the Inspector General, an institution that was never used at all. The CSIS considers that it is accountable directly to the President now.

But only atoms, you're wrong. The FO was NEVER created by the Government. It's a collective association that has associated itself with the Government to form a Governmental organization (institution), an independent institution overviewed by the MOL (if the position doesn't exist, it can automatically go to the President or an assigned Minister to make sure that it doesn't become invalid).
