Join the new world

I've been around eRepublik for a fairly long time now, and I've decided I have the knowledge, time and expertise to be an effective congressman for the USA. As much as this country drives me nuts at times, I really want us to be successful, not only as a country, but as an alliance. One country alone cannot survive in eRep, so we must form good, close relationships with our allied countries to have any hope of success, whether that is defined by economics or through war.

My most important attribute is I have a through understanding of the history, mechanics, and current events in eRepublik. Also, I'm pretty frickin' cool and brilliant, which I consider to be the most important things to be an effective congressman 😉. I will write my platform in over a few installments, so as to not bore you.

Background
I started about playing eRep about 5 months ago, intrigued by the trivia portion of the game (yes, new players, we had to answer trivia questions to be productive at work/train effectively/do lots of damage), because I love trivia. I was extremely curious about the game, so I spent a lot of time reading newspaper articles--both those from famous players like Uncle Sam, Benn Dover, and Jewitt, as well as any and everybody I could find. I also read damn near every thread posted in the eUSA forums on economics and politics to ensure I could make sound, wise contributions to the community.

Since then, I have owned four businesses and continue to manage three, employing 40 Americans with good wages. I also contribute humor and the occasional insightful comment in business and political discussions 😉.

Qualifications
Again, my strongest qualification is that I can critically evaluate the game to make the best decisions possible four our country and ATLANTIS. Congress needs more people that can think rationally, keep their heads about them and be actively engaged in discussion. I can add those things to congress.

I was a captain in the USA army before being accepted into the Marine Corps, where I have been serving the country for weeks. I have to add, the Marines are an incredible organization of people willing to forgo their political and economic careers in the US to serve their country overseas for weeks on end and work for a couple dollars a day to supply their comrades with weapons to help our allies.

Platform
This is where things get interesting. I have been around long enough to see our treasury stolen on multiple occasions, and nationalized weapons companies stolen and liquidated, amongst other crises. Therefore, I support a policy that critically evaluates the current nature of the economic and social climate to make the best decision for the USA and ATLANTIS. Please note that I have mentioned ATLANTIS and our country in the same breath on multiple occasions. As we have shown, we need other countries to prevent rapidly-expanding PEACE from becoming irreversibly strong. Provided the admins fix bugs that have allowed PEACE to gain an unfair upper-hand, our Romanian allies will need our help and we will need theirs to rebuild our strength as an alliance.

In ensuing articles, I will convincingly prove that we need our alliance, as well as my opinion on taxes, international trade, and international relations.

But most importantly, my name is hilarious and my avatar is repulsive 😉.
