Its time to wake up!!

After the last few weeks, I have been checking out the community of the eNL. I have kept a low profile, mainly because I wanted to see how the eNL is currently functioning. Trying to see who is who again and see where our community is in need of that reform.

I am happy to say that our current CP has done a good job. Acting quick and making orders and thinking strategically. The only thing is that with the recent invasion of Belgium a lot of people were not sure of the course that was being taken until being updated a few days later. it was more of a covert thing.

Another thing that I have noticed is that congress for the most part is dead on the forums, and that there is no information about it in the media. I get the feeling that there is a severe disconnect between the players of the country and the government. That being said there is room for the community to grow and communicate better with one another.

All this is almost in a sense depressing. It feels like were in the death throbs of a community. It is for sure not the same community I left behind all those years ago. I feel that the spirit has faded but the love of the community remains.

We have the active "hard core" community members who are in a sense the pillars of the community. Some still bitter over the events of the past, that are for many long forgotten. They act like bitter old men trying to cling to the past, to the word of the law, and as a result have lost the spirit of the of the community. But even they can still be saved!

I find it funny in that my opponents candidacy he spent much time criticizing a returning veteran, for his return, rather than welcoming someone back into the fold.
I remember during my active years, all the times that Andreas quit and returned... and hes still here and I love him for it! Hes one of the people in the community I have the most respect for, and I have never heard an ill word spoken about him in all my years. Through thick and thin, he has always been there even when he has not been here. Thats the spirit of the community right there! He is the spirit we all must strive for!

Another Hero, who i must not forget is EPIX. Hes one of those members who will basically just always be there. I have never seen him in bad spirt but always been a positive influence on the community. Hes the Bro that just keeps on Bro 'ing. Hes a player that has never had any ambitions in politics and I can respect that. Hes always been there for the fight though! He has served this community many times, and is loyal to a fault!

The reason why I name these two people, is because they are people in the community who have been there through it all. They hold no grudges, they respect others and receive respect in return. They make it seem effortless!

They are virtuous men of our community. The types of players we should all strive to be. They are in my eyes the greatest heros of our great nation!

I know I will never be like them, there is to much history between me and others. But it does not mean I do not try to strive to the qualities these men posses!
We all have our faults, but I am a firm believer that time heals all wounds, and that we all posses the ability to change for the better.
I believe that we can use these qualities to make the community better. Something we as a community should strive towards.

They do not ask for honors, medals or laurels.

But I do feel that I must mention them because they are the unsung heroes.
I want to thank them in any case on behalf of myself and a grateful nation for their service.

But how do we get there?

First we must toss away our resentments we have towards one another. Time heals all wounds. What might have happened in the past should stay in the past. We must learn from our mistakes, and not let history repeat itself.

We must also innovate our community.
The past decade has shown us major advances in communications, but still we cling to the old. Its time to move forward. Innovate the community.
We should not cling to the pillars that crumble in hope to keep the community upright, but drive new ones, rebuild and strengthen those we have.
We need to get blood into our community again. For how else can the community live forth.

I understand that i will most likely not win the election on the 5th.

I have not returned to win an election or to stir up old grudges.

I am here because I want to be here.
I am running for CP because I want to wake everyone up!

Why? because...

I still believe in the community.
I believe that this community still can be saved.

I have hope, that people will wake from their slumber, role up their sleeves and wipe the crusts out of their eyes.
I hope people realize that we can continue to keep this community alive through modernizing it, and irregardless of the election outcome.

I will strive towards this goal and hope that you will do so with me.

Long live the eNL!
