Its Quiet...Too Quiet...

Day 831, 19:06 Published in USA USA by RomanEmpire

For the last two days, I have not had any battles to fight in. This is a first in quite a while. With the battles in Greece and the eUK over with, the only military action on the board is the Swedish response to a Serbian PTO of Denmark. It has been a week since any major offensives by either EDEN or Phoenix, and even the offensives that we saw were minor. Phoenix especially has been saving up gold for quite a while now, and besides EDEN putting some gold into the eUK, we have done very little ourselves. Something is up, and sh** is about to go down.

Give it a week at most, and one side or the other will try to pull something off. With gold piling up and V2 on the way, it is inevitable. I know what most of you are thinking, "won't they all save their gold and wait to start new campaigns until after V2 comes out?". I don't think so. Look at it this way. The commanders on both sides know how this system works. They know what they want to go after, and have been planning it for a long time. V2 will shake up everything, and both sides want to make sure that their delicate planning and preparations do not get wasted.

EDEN, for example, wants the high iron in Asia out of Phoenix hands ASAP, and they know how to go about doing that in the current system. V2 will likely force EDEN to come up with a completely rethink their strategy, and pump a lot of money into new military products (tanks and helicopters) to make any such campaign successful. This would stall any assault for weeks, perhaps months. This would assuredly prevent Phoenix from making much headway in France and Germany for the same reasons. Oh, and lets not forget the fact that everyone is going to want to take as much of an advantage in the new system away from their opponents as possible, which primarily consists of taking high resource regions from each other.

I'm just saying, watch out for one last big "end of an era" blow-out before the new V2 comes out. Before we all get to get mad about the new system and talk about "the old days," we'll have a chance to get mad at the opposing alliance for dirty tricks and taking ground from us. I'm pretty sure that we will take the opportunity. If history in this game has taught us anything, it is that we can't stay at peace for long. Get ready, it may be short, but its going to be big.
