It's time to say goodbye.

Day 731, 14:27 Published in Sweden Sweden by Misho

eRepublik celebrate its 2 year birth day today, for those of us who have been playing this game for quite some time we have taken part of a roller coaster ride. Many wagons have left the train by free will, others have slipped out when entering the curves with to much speed. Yet other ones have left us in real life but lives on for still some time here in the New World like a burning candle.

Dynamic duos disappears.

Lately it looks like the number of so called Beta Giants leaving the game has increased, I was very surprised to see eGermanys dynamic duo Sebl and DKN be permanently banned. Two players who have been very active in both eSwedish and eGerman politics and economy for a very long time. For me that was much more surprising than the permanent bans of eUSA's equally dynamic duo where the - until that time - most prominent business man i eUSA left. I'm talking about Benn Dover and Uncle Sam of course. Four players mentioned, three of them former presidents, all of them very high ranked, very strong and incredibly rich.

We have also seen permanent bans on other incredibly strong and equal rich players such as Nevugila and Alucard Bloodlust in the history. Other Beta giants who have left the game by slowly dropping wellness and then die are - to mention yet another dynamic duo - this time a Nordic one, is Flammbar and Forconin. Two former presidents with many president mandates during their eLife, both had also over 4000 Gold from their respective states on their accounts. Flammbar and Forconin where very active during the early eRepublik and the Northern Alliance era that in many ways are still very much alive today.

Just look at the flags to the right to see what countries had the most population at this time, Sweden ranked nr 1 and Norway nr 3. It gives a perspective.

Just recently yet another dynamic duo said goodbye - Diarmuid, once Atlantis Supreme Commander and Meiko once president of Spain and for a long time Secretary General of Atlantis - the mightiest military alliance of that time in the game. This meanwhile Quicksilver has said goodbye, been permanently banned, had successful appeals and forfeit points removed and returned back to game. For those of you who had doubts she was a woman, now you know for sure 😉
It feels like lots of beta giants are saying good bye right now for various reasons. Meiko mentioned that her withdrawal from the game was partly because a, according to her opinion, unfair ban of Sccott. - yet another Beta Giant.

Should false accusations be awarded with forfeit points?

Its not allowed to make false accusations in articles or on the forums, but what about the tickets and the contact formula? What about players who constantly report things to the admin claiming that this and that players should be banned, arguing how phrases and expressions on a foreign language should be interpret as an insult and therefore be rewarded with forfeit points or a ban.
Should it be okay to report false accusations repeatedly without being dealt with yourself?
What do you think? Perhaps its a topic for the suggestion part in the forums?

New sketches launched today.

eRepublik Insider launched some new sketches today with what might be future arts in the New World. Nothing new was brought to the table, or perhaps it was? It was yet again mentioned that PvP will be back. But not a word about in which shape or form.
Nothing was mentioned about the Raw Material system which had its its first re-distribution deadline 8(?) months ago.
Admin have noticed that the New World suffers from over producing, even during world wars the amount of weapons on the world market increases.

If we analyse the sketches we can notice that there where five drawings of various houses, weapons, hospitals, tickets and helicopters but only four of defence systems. Well if it was defence systems.

Five, five, five, five, four..!?

The idea behind the defence system is one of the most odd ideas in this game in my opinion. Basically if you spend 300 gold you are rewarded with a wall, which if you are attacked your opponents will have to destroy it to conquer you. So far so good. But here comes the odd part. If you want to defend yourself, you must re-build the wall with just as many points as the attacker removes. So basically it gives you no defence point what so ever.
In my opinion all it does is making the region containing it looking more tasty to attack.

Helicopters, neat. I hope it is a new military branch. Like the one suggested by Erwin Schaumann a long time ago. Like when Land skill was introduced and all of a sudden everyone from the latest registered newcomer to the oldest beta giant all of a sudden had Zero skill in a new attractive branch. A branch which today pays the highest salaries in many countries.
I would whole hearted welcome such an opening for new players in the military branch, both air force and navy would be much welcomed additions.

Terrorism in the New World?

But what if the game developers have chosen a different path, it wouldn't be the first time. What if the new war module will contain terrorism and national guards and a whole deck of new complex cards to play in a interactive community driven game as this game is?
We have already seen the organized gangs attacking national states in eRepublik, and we have seen it repeatedly making it some of the most intense, well covered and decisive moments in eRepublik history so far. I'm talking about the hostile Political Take Overs which where done on regular basis until the Citizenship Module was finally launched.
Who knows what might follow if organized criminality and terrorism was introduced as a playable module in to the New World.

eRepublik will continue to take one step forward and one step back. For some the step forward is a step back and vice versa for others. The increase of players might lead to a more local New World where it become much harder to fight in wars on the other side of the world. The new MPP rules are on big step away from world wars with 25 countries vs another 25 countries. A little change in the moving ticket market could be another.

All I know is that it shall be interesting to see what will follow and that it probably will take quite some time until the game developers launch next big module. But on the other hand they have been working on it for quite some time also and with eRepublik you never know, it might be here sooner than at least I can imagine.

Until then I will continue to walk around here in the New World, eating Klägg(tm) from DRK Foods and once a year a piece of cake. eSweden is getting better and better for every month and I just have to tip my hat to both new and old politicians and the eternal unofficial diplomats carrying on their duties and building a better, stronger, more fun and more efficient eCountry day after day, brick by brick.

Not a single word about Peace GC?

Oh, well, Peace GC is kind of dissolved. What will happen now, will NEUTRAL be formed now? Noble Entity Using Totally Ridiculous Allegation Liars?

Or will there be a change of some kind?

Perhaps did Jeremy Clarksson point out the direction in Top Gear when he said "Belgium was invented to give Germany and England a ground to fight out its differences." Or at least he said something like that.
eBelgium has been all to inactive, does it even exist?
You can't write an article about beta giants without mentioning Romanians and Italians. Romania still have the oldest and strongest players and eSweden and eRomania share a great history together. But I will finish this article with a little Jeremy Clarksson celebration to Vegaicm, Gil-galad, Colinar and other former eItalians who have fought against myself and eSweden with honour so many times. I don't know if you are all Italians or tifosis but thank you guys!
Ok, here it comes: “The Ferrari 355 is like a quail’s egg dipped in celery salt and served in Julia Roberts’ belly button.” - Jeremy Clarksson.

Unfortunately Julia Roberts - just as Jeremy Clarksson isn't 21 any more and nowadays she should perhaps be better compared with a Volvo XC 90. Apparently she feels safe with a big Swede by her side.. 😉

Yours on the battlefield, now entering the third year.
