Disclaimer: This article is about me remembering the "old days" of eRepublik. If you've been around eRepublik for a long, long time, then you'll most probably be able to relate to this article. For those of you who don't like long articles, if you really want to, I wrap up the article in the second to last paragraph.
This article is dedicated to the veterans and "Beta/V1 Giants" of eRepublik, and the ones I've known my whole life in eRepublik. Thanks for the great times!
Wow. Day 1,001. When I joined eRepublik, back on day 474, I never realized that I'd see Day 1,000. When I joined, I remember the people called the "Beta Giants", and I remember thinking, "Wow, I wonder what it's like to be called a Beta Giant?". Well, it's only now just sinking in that I'm sort of a Beta Giant in a way. No, I never saw eRepublik in its Beta form, but I guess you could call me a V1 Giant.
I came here to India during Brood's presidency (BroodRoosterNL for those of you who are in to saying full names). Back then, we only had Orissa. Nothing else. Orissa and about 25 active citizens. I remember wondering what it would be like to see a full India. I never thought for a second that I would see the day that India was full. I never even thought that Karnataka would come out of Indonesian hand. The Indonesian Empire! No one could beat them. Not even the USA. No one.
I remember when ATLANTIS crashed. I bet 90% of the population of eRepublik has never heard of ATLANTIS. I bet most people haven't even heard of PEACE. But for all you Beta and V1 Giants out there, I bet you remember that day like it was yesterday. Remember how the media was flooded with "ATLANTIS Done!" articles? Remember how the USA tried to make Fortis, while the rest of Europe went with EDEN? Remember how that was the moment when the USA and UK went from best friends to worst enemies?
What about the crash of PEACE? That's a little more recent, right? Remember Phoenix? I remember thinking, "Wow, that sounds a lot like my name!". Remember how EDEN celebrated, the leftovers of Fortis cheered, and a lot of Indians were thrilled, because that hurt Indonesia (We still hated Indonesia)?
I remember the conquest of North America. That had to be one of the biggest battles in eRepublik. At PEACE's prime, Canada was fully conquered, and the USA was down to Florida. But with Emerick in charge, the USA and Canada fully came back, and that was really when PEACE came flying down.
I'm sorry if I'm rambling now. I'm just remembering the old days of eRepublik. When I say "Beta and V1 Giants", you guys know who you are! I don't have to name you guys, do I? You know, Ashwamedh, Brood, Jelly, Ugo, Vigi, I really don't want to go on. There's still some of you guys left, right? I know that many of my old friends are retiring, but there's still a few of us!
Before I finish this article, I'd like to say one more thing. I'll say it flat out. One day, I'd like to be President of India with a cabinet stuffed with Beta and V1 Giants. Like I said, you guys know who you are. I'd like a cabinet with the guys who saw ATLANTIS, PEACE, the North American War, the addition of South America, the guys who saw India as Orissa. Those people! Just for one term, I'd like to be President, and I'd like to work with a cabinet full of those people! Like I said, you know who you are!
To finish this article, if you read down here, thank you, and for all you eRepublik Giants out there, more and more of us may be retiring, but we've still got those memories, those legacies, and those good times we spent building India, watching eRepublik grow, and enjoying ourselves.

If you run for president and need a cabinet member...let me know! I'd like to stay in ePhilippines but seeing you as president may be something to have me take a VK for a month 😛
I remember scrabman's first presidency, I was around when Mexico was finally being returned to Mexico from the U.S., when the U.S. tried invading Russia, when I was living in Russia fighting a resistance war in North Dakota. I remember when countries like Bolivia were added. Very fun times.

memories...ah...i remember the day atlantis crushed...i remember fighting for the legentary romanian empire from the plains of Muntenia...fights in Tibet...i remember the day my friends came here and i mourn the days they left...i remember battles we won against all odds...and those we lost against all odds...i remember the battle of day 738, fall of Ontario, Emerick's all out attacks, erasing of Spain, my time in Peru, TO of Italy, fall of Serbia, siege of Budapest, fall of Croatia, RW of HK...etc..
