Introduction Article: France vs. USA?
By: Michael Raab

When I got on eRepublik today my plans were to go about it like any other day. Work a bit for my salary, train so I can "MAXIMIZE MY INFLUENCE", produce my own food, and go on the forums a bit to see if any topic caught my eye. But when I first logged on, I saw a shout from President Cerb saying

"Fight for USA! RW was not supposed to be started here:
http://www.erepublik.com/en/wars/show/8817"

I thought, "What the hell is going on?" because the battle was not shown on the battle list on the eRepublik home screen. I clicked on the link thinking that I would be whisked away to some place I had never heard of before. You could imagine my reaction when I realized that I was fighting against the French in Aquitaine.

Now, the USA is basically fighting a replica of WWII with the facts that a country controls most of mainland Europe in both regular and puppet-states (in our case it's Poland not Germany) and the fact that we have to save France's ass... again.

So why are they trying to regain a territory that we helped them secure? I don't know. This will be an interesting thing for the new President (elections Tomorrow) to figure out.

To start the article, I would like to congratulate SVV on getting laid. Due to that important fact, his VP Pick Gnilraps is running in his spot. With elections in RL coming around, attacks in speeches are common. I was watching Good Morning America when I saw an announcement by none other than Sarah Palin. You can probably look up the speech, but in it Mrs. Palin says, ...poles are for strippers and skiers....

When she said this, my brain couldn't decipher whether to laugh or to stay silent. I feel as if that is "in a nutshell" why people do not support Mrs. Palin, because sometimes she doesn't make sense. As a Republican myself, I want the "most electable" person to win the Primary Elections to take on Obama. The irony in this is the fact the I attend the same High School that President Obama went to, and I'd probably be shot by his worshipers for saying anything like this.

Anyway, Mrs. Palin went on to attack President Obama and her fellow Republicans. I my own mind, attacking your party members isn't really a good way to get elected. Then it hit me, why are politicians like that? When all of the Presidential Candidates in eRepublik announced their candidacies, they announced their every move with grace and professionalism.

In all of the articles by the Big Three, Gnilraps, Paul Proteus, and Alexander_Auctoritas I have seen nothing but well-mannered bantering. In the comments of their articles announcing Cabinet members, there are messages from the other two saying things like "Good Choice" or "Look forward to the Elections".

So when I say this, I say it to all RL Politicians,
"Learn a thing or two from eRepublik Politicians, you may be more popular with the public because of it. Right now, you all act like PtH... so stop it and get some class."

Good Luck to Everyone in Tomorrows Elections!

Sports: College Football (Week 1)
By: Michael Raab

College Football is back, and to start it off, I want to share a few "surprise" scores from this past week.
*Bold Indicates Victor

Week 1 Surprises:
#14 TCU @ Baylor
48-50

Utah State @ #23 Auburn
38-42

To start off, I must say that the TCU vs. Baylor game was very impressive. Both teams played very well in 102 degree Dallas Metropolitan weather. I know that when I play football, 95 degrees is my limit before it starts to get unbearable. Anyway, at halftime, Baylor seemed to have the upset in the bag, but TCU rallied back until then end when the Baylor defense shut them down. This game was very exciting to watch, and if you didn't watch it, I suggest you go to ESPN360 and watch the tape.

Utah State vs Auburn was a blowout prediction. I even predicted to my friends at school a 56-0 Auburn victory. Thankfully, I was wrong. Just like the TCU @ Baylor game, Utah State had the upset locked up. With only over a minute to go, Auburn rallied to score twice to secure a Tigers victory. I also suggest that you watch this on ESPN360.

To finish off this sports column, I would like to announce my upset pick for next week. It may be wrong, but this is what I feel could happen.

#12 South Carolina @ #19 Georgia
17-28
