Issue #2 A Black Hole in Monetary Market

A few days ago plato announced a new system on monetary market after hours of delays for the maintance.



I have viewed many articles explaining about the changes and comparisons between old form and the new form. And also people made a lot of comments on their newspapers and message boards.

What is different?
The main difference was the new formation leading the unity of the currencies. This basicly means CC will not mean anything anymore. Before there was a constant exchange value tool as gold. I mean if you want to exchange your CC to another country's CC you had to make it through the gold value. So there was a similarity with the real world economy. (of course there are more parameters used in real economy)

Since this is a game and keeping it as simple as possible is better and it was. But now it is simpler then it should be. Because we have lost one of the variables in the economic module which was adding a playable game value in eRep. We can double check the situation's possible failure with the real life experience on unity of european currencies to Euro. Althought the politicians still defences this unification the publics think that it was better when all the countries has their own currency 🙂

Will this change effect much on playability?
As most of you know the game starts very fast for the new player, almost 3-4 level increase occurs everyday and earning plenty of golds while your rank is increasing very fastly. But when you reach level 20 this rapid action slows down and game starts to be a little boring then it was in the beginning. and after that your gaming experience will become still till you get 28-29 levels. Because before having a certain strenght points and rank your influence is not that good and by the time you were still collecting bazookas and energy bars.

At this moderate levels you are far from all other medals than hardworker and super soldier. So you mostly turn this game into a run with economic activites such as stuff trading and/or currency trading. Now you can't with this new economic model. Since the currencies are now equal and you can not make profit from trading after the inflation ad deflation is over.

The solution suggestion
In my opinion Plato should have study on a foreign currency exchange platform which can differ under the control of the population, battles, resistance wars and aliances. So that every eCountry can work on much to have a stronger economy and also the success coming by the battles will also make that eCountry stronger. I presume that this effect will yield a better country unity for all nations and eNationalism - which will make this game more fun - will be more important.

Also it can be thought as Forex Trade platform in real life. So that citizens would not have a direct effect but eCountry treasuries will make this exchanges under the control of eGoverments.

We all want a better gaming experience and a spending better time while clicking our mouse buttons. So any development at the game is welcome. But as last words we can say Plato may include the players into these decisions more.
