As I sit here, drinking the sweet tears of little school girls, I take a glance at the eWorld around me.
Germany is down to a measly 3 regions.
Canada is plowing the UK with its throbbing meat stick.
Russia is looking pretty colorful nowadays as well.
Notice, in all of these regions, Phoenix is losing, big time. One could argue that Phoenix is dead, with the emergence of the new war module, dubbed v1.5, it is clear Phoenix has been denied any real success on the battlefield. This has been in part due to the "Master Card Empire" (Eden). Many players cry foul as now the battles are won by who spends the most gold, not who has the most unified nation. There are literally one man armies winning against entire nations. However this is not only the reason, Eden now seems to be more determined than ever to win, just take a look how it won the press war. Now while the press war does not mean much, it shows that Eden is determined just as much, even a little bit more, determined to win than Phoenix in everything. A motivated Eden in conjunction with players with lots of gold is a deadly situation...Never in any other period has Eden been as dominant as it is now. Asia, Europe, America, Phoenix has been forced to go on the defensive in all of these continents.
Oh and Hungary got wiped out a week ago.
There was once a time when Emericka was absolutely terrified of PEACE. Most of you are probably too young to remember that (you should read about it), but those who were there know exactly how it felt. We were literally down to one region. It took a peace treaty, this guy, and a unified America to turn back the tide. Now the tables have turned and the war is on their soil. I have never seen such a time in where the balance of power has hinted so strongly towards Eden.
What happened to these days, Phoenix?
Then there is the Bulgarian question. Recently there has been very public uproar over Phoenix's prioritization of Macedonia over Bulgaria. Currently this article is in the top 5, urging Bulgaria to remain in the alliance. This article, by the president of Rumania, outlines the benefits of Bulgaria joining Eden and how Eden has helped Bulgaria when Phoenix wouldn't. I think it is plausible that Bulgaria may end up like Latvia if Phoenix does not make great strives towards solving this problem promptly and well.
The real test is coming for Phoenix, it can potentially end the alliance forever. It is no secret, the United States is making great efforts to PTO Russia and install a puppet government to ensure the once global power will never rise from the ashes again. If EDEN succeeds on election day, I will feel truly worried for Phoenix.
Can Phoenix stop...

Are people seriously expecting domination to be handed to them, rather than earned? Sure, EDEN may be on top for a while, but Phoenix used to be in the same position, as was PEACE and ATLANTIS at some point in their lifetimes. What did PEACE or ATLANTIS do when they started to lag performance-wise?
They rethought their positions! They weren't going to quit the game just because they were losing. They were going to keep playing and keep adapting.
The fact that people are threatening to quit because Phoenix is losing isn't noble. It's pathetic.
Russia's been more colorful, actually.

I was there when we were struck down to one territory and i was there when we pushed eIndo out of California as well, where are those days indeed.
I would say the breakup of the larger PEACE organization into PHOENIX was most likely their downfall, along with the formation of EDEN which grew a lot since its inception.
The new war module does probably have a lot to do with it, though, i mean poorer countries are probably getting the shaft.
It's unfair in a way.

There is only so much bragging that can be done and eventually we will be in a spending fatigue. Yes its great Eden is taking over the world and putting up a huge fight, but how long before people go.. "its under attack again?" and just get bored and not care about it as much.
Great time to boost morale and support, just if it goes on to long things tends to get boring, especially if the place is hit like a billionth time.
All these international wars were fun in the beginning. Myself I fought in a few, food and weapons do cost a lot and it was worth it in the begging.
Now its more the lines of looks like we will win again so, no need for me to do anything.
Phoenix, don't ever give up. EDEN is trying to PTO, but what you must remember, Phoenix as an alliance of countries, is undeniably the best friggin' A/PTO machine since late Beta and V1. What EDEN has to think about is, even if they've got the Mastercard power, do they have the citizen and organizational power or the nationalist sentiment which only comes from occupation?

Look, problem is not gold or something else, it is MODULE and nothing more. Why is it module? Because Phoenix was always weak with gold and strong with tactics. Our game is to organize and play wise not to shoot hard and tactics has been almost erased from erep.
Also all territories one nation takes are not worth taking anymore 🙂 U cannot make a fortress as eden did in RA or Phoenix in LK and spend months of planning to regain them, than stay awake for 30 hours and shoot till your last gun.. Those were times.. This is just boring. Those visions of far territories of extreme value kept people in game, made them spend and so...
Now there are limits on what one should spend even with original regions... Hungary counted well that it costs much less to RW back territories than defend them, so they practically gave up... There is no more drill... Should I defend territory against 16 mpp's or RW it 1 on 1 the day after?
Even if it had gold, give me one reason why eSerbia should make it's trip back to Asia to take LK for example if it cannot be made as fortress to keep for months? At pretty low cost they would RW it every time they can and sooner or later it would fall because people have no wish to defend same territory every day.. To make such a trip without retreat button would anyway be impossible... So where is the drill? 28k people to 12k people is only result u can get out of this, and these 12k that left are there only because they hope someone will notice that there is no big joy in playing this way and change stuff, if that doesn't happen soon game will die...
Eden is winning with spending more gold, are they really enjoying the game? Is it really great to erase Germany by paying 10 players 200 gold each and with no planning make them shoot till u win? I don't get it... Phoenix started retaking some regions but i cannot feel some great satisfaction with any victory.... All game is on economic plan and nothing more...
The war module was created to burn up all the excess produce that began building up since day one of v2. Once things have stabilized (now, i think) The admin will changes something to make wars more fare, more expensive, and less Dependant on gold.
