Irrational eRepublik: 1

Day 3,027, 22:19 Published in Ireland Ireland by Sweet Drinker

So the institutionally-roleplayed ingame presidential elections are upon us.

I for one am very excited to see what unfolds.

Will azaraliii, the new player in eIrish politics take command with 2 supporting parties?
What would that mean? I don't know anything about aza myself, so it would be unfair for me to speculate.

Will we see a new wave of inspired young accounts flock en masse to Ante the Animal, and subsequent deletion😁, in the election?
No doubt the current administration is taking measures in case this proves the case 😁

Will eIreland elect the Military Choice Sluagh in this time of occupation?
If I were any decent sort of politician I'd be writing a support article on why my candidate" is the obvious choice.
But I'm not a proper politician and everybody already knows all of that and just don't give a fugh anyway. Besides, this is an Irrational Erepublik article 😃

What I really want, expect, nigh on demand, is that you vote for Winston Hope Smith in this election.
Sure, Sluagh could bring us a stable military situation. But we've seen scenarios like that countless times before.
Everything will go back to the moanybitchfest it has been and continue sapping everyone's will to login.

I believe in the long run, it will be better for the eIrish community if Winston is left the task of cleaning up Winston's mess.
How is he ever going to learn to drive if you don't let him total the car several times? I know it sucks not having the car in the auto-shop 25 days a month, but it's not like nobody else has ever wrapped her round a fencepost.
Don't worry about it, we're insured 😉

Also, I've got a lot going on irl these days, so Winston's "Can't Do" attitude suits me much more than the inevitable "Strategy & Activity" Sluagh might threaten me with.
Imagine if the government was actually making a concerted effort to liberate eIreland? Then I'd feel compelled to go that extra mile and possibly spend vast resources in support of eIrish pride!
Thankfully eIreland will almost certainly re-elect Winston to do exactly what he promised in his campaign article:

Confident in the knowledge that I do more on behalf of eIreland than our government, by simply attending a battle-round, I'm absolved of any meaningful responsibility to defend my division. Because what good is barnstorming your division just to watch eIreland put no resources into securing the other divisions?
This leaves me free to look after my own business instead.

And it's great because ILPreland have even installed this permanent cash machine right in my own back yard.
It's like hitting a bonus level when I login to an eIrish RW these days.

^That is obv me taking the piss just to prove a point. Point is: I wouldn't be able to do that in a functioning enation.
I've lost count of how much gold I've made since eLith arrived. Hundreds and hundreds of gold, for next to no resource output because our government has no international or military profile, so our battle bars languish empty = Free Parking!

On top of that, the eLithuanians seem to be well within their Longterm-Occupation-Operational-Budget... I'm sure they don't call it that, but I promise it exists.
Point is, get out the LOOB cuz Lithuania could be sticking around as long as we haven't a government competent enough to change the situation. Unless some outsider comes to save us.

It's all so grimly inevitable. I feel like a failed Hollywood agent, watching my favourite actress forced into the porn industry to pay her bills. I can't talk ILPreland into putting her clothes on. All I can do is watch the videos roll out, and collect commission.
Why WOULDN'T you vote for more of this?!?

Many players over the years have complained that their substantiable contributions to eIreland have gone rather unthanked.
To think that eIreland as a community is giving me this opportunity to recover my previous expenditures, making this sacrifice seemingly on my behalf (I don't see anyone else on our side getting much out of this).
It's going so well, I've honestly been trying to estimate just how many Winstonian administrative terms it would take for me to recover ever last penny I ever spent on eIreland.
I want you all to know how much I appreciate eIreland's willingness to accept this oppression in order to make me the indisputably richest eIrelander who ever lived.

May we have a safe and prosperous institutionally-roleplayed ingame presidential election.
