Irish Union Party: Getting Involved.

Day 542, 08:58 Published in Ireland Ireland by Vyse

This is a call from the Irish Union Party founder writing an article to try get more of the party actually involved. I'll most likely be messaging most of you today bugging you even further as well. If it's not me it'll be another of our members trying to give you a kick up the arse in the right direction. Ain't we just nice like that?

A few days ago I myself desided to break the ice that has frozen the Irish Union Party for awhile. Despite winning the Presidency again. I've been less than satisfied with our parties internal policy and activity. Which is down from even my time as Party President. So I've given some tips to Severin on how to improve the Irish Union Party. Most active members agree with them so we are going to implement them once more. It'll be hard work but if we are to keep our place at the summit we must not let ourselves get lax. That's what happened to Ireland First in the end and I'm not going to see that happen to the party I founded and others helped build.

So what can you the IUP member do to contribute? Well for a start sign up to our forums. Found at:

www.iupforum.tk

Now I'm not a big fan of separating the National forums (Found at http://forum.erepublik-ie.com ) and Party forums. I think it puts off people having to sign up to several forums. I'd much rather have a private subsection on the national forums. It would encourage more people to sign up to them as well which is what is needed to help us communicate better as a country. Though I digress please bear with it and sign up to both.

So all signed up and ready to get discussing your ideas. I myself see IUP as a league of independent thinkers. So if you like a good debate and not a bunch of yes men IUP is the place to be. Currently we are going to run a few programs to help our members.

Mentors

Back when I was Party President I wanted to do everything to help our new members. Mentors are older players that will be partnered with new players to teach them the basics. Hopefully if we get enough interest we can have a ask the experts section for the more complex stuff. Like the Monetary Market, the War Module among other things. Of course the University of Ireland already somewhat helps with this it never harms anyone to have extra avenues for help.

Elections

A founding principle of the Irish Union Party. It should never be solely up to the Elite to decide who runs for Country President or indeed Congress if their are that many Candidates running we need to pick one over the other. In IUP if their has been more than one person looking to run for President we hold a vote. I'd like to see attempts to further improve turnout in these votes. Igor floundered a tad in this department. I want these Primary Elections to be organized properly with PM's going out to all members reminding them to vote in them. Not just have a poll for 24 Hours (Or less) and see who shows up. Further improvements to the selection process need to be considered.

IUP Youth

Not got the XP to join a party yet? Though have your heart set on joining IUP. Then join the IUP youth and get access to the forums. You won't get full membership rights till you have the
necessary XP. You will however get your voice heard and not just be two clicking away till you have the necessary XP to join in with the bigger kids.

And Finally...

Remember to have fun and make new friends. Erepublik is a social game it is nothing without a strong community. If you isolate yourself from the community then you will find this game incredibly dull I imagine. So buck up and get involved in the most fun part of Erepublik.
