With eIreland being in a crucial state right now it can be very stressful and sometimes even a little boring 😛. So let's take our minds off erepublik for a moment and focus on rooting for Ireland's athletes this year in the Summer 2012 London Olympics.

Some quick facts to get through before we look at the athletes we will be cheering for this year at the Olympics.

As of the 2008 Games, Ireland has won 20 medals (8 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze) in Summer Olympic competition.
The Irish athlete that has won the most Olympic medals is swimmer Michelle Smith who won 4 medals (3 gold, 1 bronze) at the 1996 Games in Atlanta.
