IRC - A How To

Hello Ireland.

I would just like to post a helpful guide on IRC. The IRC (imo) is one of the most helpful and useful things I have found throughout my time here in eRepublik. It allows for quick easy help and keeps you up with all the happenings in eIreland and the eWorld.

Its not solely used by eRep but many nations in eRep have used it including our own, even parties use it.

There are many ways of gaining access to the IRC and many different clients you can use. I myself use mIRC which is a downloadable client.



mIRC

In order to use IRC first off you must Download it [url=http://http://www.mirc.com/get.html]here[/url] When its finished downloading run the program, It starts off showing you a 30 day trial (You can use forever), Just click Continue. Write in the details (Doesn't matter if they are false), though use your eRep Name as your nickname and click connect. This connects you too a random server but you want too get too rizon. So "X" the pop up screen and type /server irc.rizon.net (In the Text Box at the bottom) and it should connect you too the Rizon server from there another screen will pop up and type #ireland (All channels begin with "#")From there just ask questions on how too get to the other channels and your on your way.
This may seem very complicated but mIRC offers a lot of extra features than most

Chatzilla

This is a client which is directly connected to Firefox (Its an Add on), Here Once you add it and restart firefox click tools in the toolbar and move down to Chatzilla, Open it. When it opens type "/server irc.rizon.net and then type "/join #ireland a- Do these without the ". That should connect you to our IRC.

Rizon Chat

This is a browser based client which a available on all broswers (afaik) Just Google Rizon Chat and click "Launch Rizon IRC Chat" or follow this link. On the opening screen just type #Ireland as the channel name and your eRep name as your nickname. Then click Connect.

Mibbit

This is another broswer based client. It doesn't work very well for me so that would be why I don't use it. So Google Mibbit then click first option and click "Launch Mibbit Webchat" or you can use this link From there Change the option at the top to "Rizon[Webirc]" Then underneath that fill in your nickname and the channel "#Ireland" and click Go and you should conncet to our IRC,

These are the main Clients people use to connect to IRC and I hope this helps. Also IRC= Internet Relay Chat.
