INTERVIEWS WITH CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES PART II

Day 2,653, 06:17 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Harry Dalton

HEADLINES: TUP AND UKPP UNITED IN SUPPORT OF NEW PLAYERS, BUT WHY ISN'T THERE ENOUGH? EACH OTHER THEY SAY...

This is the last of the two part series of interviews with Congressional Candidates... incidentally some of the party lists are already live. Apologies if people think that there is a bit of a TUP heavy balance here, it's just that the last CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES INTERVIEWS were mostly UKPP candidates. If anyone from UKRP, WRP and PCP would like an interview, please let me know - it was only time constraints that got in my way!

RODNEY MCKAY TUP
Retention is the single most important thing we should be doing more of right now. Gaining new players and keeping them entertained is extremely important for the continuation of the UK. Boosting support for NHS and subsidising academy or mentor programs would be a good use of everyone's time and money.

CRANKHUNTER UKPP
We have so many fresh faces in Congress but many of the them do not participate in any debate. We also have a lack of support to new players. They should stay in the eUK and also stay active. On top of that, we should concentrate on our ally policy. I would let them [potential supporters from other parties] take part in party business and give them a chance to get in Congress. But I would try to help them as much as I can... [Voters will choose me] because I try to be uninfluenceable by other people and the so called PTO'ers.

DOUGAL4CHAOS TUP
(HD): What is the most important aspect of UK policy today that requires change?
(D4S): The attitude of those in congress, some people seem to have got bored of the game and just do what they want to have fun at others expense. some people, namely fartsalot are very rude and bullying to new congress members, and this has put a lot of people of of signing up for a 2nd term in term. they think its fun to PTO the other political parties rather than working with each other for the betterment of the UK. politics is currently a popularity contest and who ever has the most hangers on wins even if its detrimental to the UK. There's a Serbian player called aleks who was voted into be speaker for congress but he botched it up really badly, some TUP members sent him messages to tell him what he'd done wrong and how to fix it while his 'friends' bullied him to resign. the following month his friend fartsalot campaigned for aleks to be CP and aleks won, fartsalot did this to take the piss out of the UK and have his fun. and again aleks resigned from CP. These type of people dont have a place in the UK or in congress.
We need to be a part of a strong alliance again and support our allies what ever the costs. we used to have strong bonds with poland and germany. now we fight poland just to suit some players personal agendas rather than respecting our long history's together.
(HD): How would you convince voters previously voting for other parties to switch?
(D4C): TUP has always been the party that puts the UK first, that supports democracy, that supports new players. we do all that a lot more than any other party does, that maybe because other parties have more DC members who are here for their own lolz.

Madelina de Melrose TUP
The most important aspect of eUK policy that needs changing is, to me, civility. We've been plagued with trolls and flamers, which has put off a lot of good steady players. Just watch to see who is leaving the game, and it's those with experience, a good attitude and the ability to help restore the eUK to greatness. Who is left? Those who think the only way to discuss anything is to call the other person names, or worse.
Why would I want people to change and vote for TUP? We're no longer (if ever we were, which I would sincerely dispute) an elitist party. We are trying to blend experience with new ideas, so the more people we can get into Congress, the faster we gain experienced people. TUP is entirely democratic, and we do our best to support and mentor new players. Some parties are (occasionally) PTOd, others fall into the situation where they are being led by people just out for laughs. I don't think that's a good attitude when we are more or less constantly fighting to keep from being overrun. Now don't get me wrong. I like a bit of fun, always believe a joke will lighten things up, but not on belittling others.

Good luck to all parties. Should be a close one between the UKPP and TUP. Or will UKRP and their recent endorsements buy them a rise to the top table? Can the WRP stop the three month rot?
